Super honest review here. Chow Time is one of the best in the area for Americanized Chinese food. I lived in Boston so I became spoiled with all the great options. Since moving to the Providence area I have found it difficult to find anywhere I liked. I work in Cranston and even the places with good reviews are bad; some I even threw in the trash without eating. I had pretty much given up and stopped getting Chinese food. Happened to be in Seekonk tonight & noticed Chow Time just before they closed. Stopped in and was immediately impressed with how clean and nice it was. They were all super friendly & helpful too. They made my food fresh in under 15 minutes. Now the food. First the Lo Mein was exactly what I expect & exactly like Boston places. Great flavor and juicy. The Honey Chicken was amazing! Perfect blend of sweet/savory and the chicken is good quality. The chicken fingers again were spot on and seem made with fresh chicken. The crab Rangoon were nice and crisp with plenty of filling and good flavor. The last thing I loved were the veggie Spring rolls. So delicious and crispy. Only down side for me is that The sauce they use on their general Tsos chicken isn’t my favorite. It wasn’t bad or anything just not the style I prefer; but the great flavor of the Honey Chicken makes up for it so I will just get that. This will definitely be my go to spot for American Chinese food in the area and I highly...
Read moreTHE BEST AMERICAN CHINESE FOOD TAKEOUT IVE EVER HAD!!!!!! PRICELESS FOOD! IT IS AMAZING! I will continue to give this restaurant a 5 star review everytime I come. For several different reasons: Everyone and anyone who comes here will NEVER be dissatisfied will WHATEVER YOU CHOOSE TO ORDER FROM THE MENU. I end up spending so much money everytime because it is so good and I cant help myself but to order 3 meals for myself. The workers are hardworking and know what they're doing. I watch them everytime I come and they are ALWAYS WORKING AND MAKING DELICIOUS FOOD! Whoever I talk to always ALWAYS provides exceptional kind service and shows their gratitude to their customers. They truly work hard and must love what they do because I can taste the love in the food and it tastes almost like the love of Jesus Christ himself! AMEN Not only is the food GOOD, but its DIFFERENT. UNIQUE. I cant help but to tell the man everytime that their food is spectacular, amazing, phenomenal, all the above!!!! The fried rice caught me the first time I tried it (and I have asian blood in me and have had my experiences eating hundreds of different asian foods) and let me tell you something. They are doing something to that food that will ELIMINATE THE COMPETITION within the next 10 years if they expand locations. Spectacular food.
Please treat yourself for a hard earned meal at chow time. You will...
Read moreI want to add that since my hybrid work now involves a 195 bridge commute, I have opted one too many times to drive down Fall River Av instead. This means...ta-dah! Ordering from Chow Time a lot more. So, this place is really popular for to-go ordering (small wonder) but I also see people eating in. I want to specify that the owners (husband and wife) place heaps of food and the nice problem really--if you call it that--is asking them to "stop" (smile). My favorites are fried rice, garlic green beans, coconut shrimp (asking for very little coconut sauce), beef with mushroom. chicken with broccoli, and veggie stir fry. I don't care much for the noodles as it is too sweet for my taste. Really good default spot for quick chow.
Dec 3, 2023 - Previous review As a Chinese fast-food (cooked food on display for take out), Chow Time is a go-to spot for me. It's a local, individual version of the Panda Express chain, too common in Los Angeles, where Chinese dishes are on display and one simply picks entrees and side dishes for their chosen combination (base: fried rice, white rice, noodles) and then a choice of one, two, or three entrees. It's quick, clean, tasty, and inexpensive.
If you are in the Seekonk or East Providence area, make sure to drop in one...
