Got to finally stop and visit this monument which I only had seen from the road while passing through Show Low. Corydon Cooley is my great-great-great grandfather. Was impressed how clean and well kept the area was. A real pleasure to visit. Enjoyed reading the sign explaining the history of the name of the town. It was fun to take the empty seat at the card game.

Very peaceful and quiet setting. Plaque describing the settlement sits at a memorial across the street by the church. How Show Low got its name shares a bit of history of how the west was settled. The sculpture of Cooley and Clark sits near the top of the promenade connecting Deuce of Clubs Blvd and E. Cooley St. at the foot of the stage.

This is a peaceful quiet park, just to the north of the LDS church. A sculpture is there of the two ranchers who played the famous card game at which the town and the through street were named. I liked the place, and the story on the plaque below the statue. There is parking a for a few cars, but no restrooms. A fun history lesson.
