2nd UPDATE: Raised star rating back up again from 1 to 3 stars. Will raise again upon satisfactory final resolution. Owner has been working to resolve problem and has credited back $150 (1/2 cash & 1/2 store credit) for one of the puppies and provided a 2 free DNA tests. Still awaiting credit for 2nd puppy and 2nd test results since first one was invalid (testing company issue, not the store).
1st UPDATE: Dropped from 3 to 1 star because the two puppies they sold us that we supposed to be chihuahuas have turned out to be mutts. If we wanted mongrels, we would have adopted puppies from the humane society, not paid a premium price for puppy mill pups from a pet store. Yes, I call it "puppy mill" because a true breeder wouldn't let the chihuahua mother crossbreed and contaminate a litter then sell the puppies as chihuahuas. We know they crossbred her with second non-chihuahua father because my mother got a chihuahua puppy from the same litter that is a full chihuahua. Our puppy already weighs over 12 pounds at only 5 months old and looks nothing like a chihuahua now. My mom's chihuahua puppy weighs only 4 pounds now.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: Friendly and helpful staff. I would given 5 stars but I took away 2 stars because found $26.00 a surprise "Customer convenience fee" on my receipt after spending over $500 there. They never told me that charge would be there or what it was for. I've never seen a charge like that anywhere ever and don't know what it was for. I won't...
Read moreI wish I could rate them better since I had such a great experience the first time there while adopting a puppy. I was told she is a cocker spaniel/poodle mix. After telling the lady who helped me purchase her that I was looking for a non-shedding puppy she went on to tell me all about how this puppies parents were both cockapoos, and how they like working with this breeder, leading me to believe she wouldn't shed so we took her home. Though we love her to death, she does shed a lot. I went in to inquire about the breeders info since she clearly has another breed in her (other attributes point this out) and the lady who had helped me before said "The breeder isn't going to tell you anything. I have a dog from her too that I think has some other breed in him than what she said." So they knowingly sell puppies from breeders who don't disclose the puppies true breed, probably to get more money. Pretty disappointing. I knew I wasn't getting a papered puppy but I trusted I was being told the right info. Although I love supporting small businesses, I will not be returning...
Read moreGreat little pet store! They have a really good variety of pets, including puppies, pet/feeding rodents, fresh water/salt water fish, reptiles, and birds. They also have a great selection of products and necessities for almost any pet. They usually have friendly staff to work with who are really good about answering any question you may have. The only reason I give four stars instead of five is because of the grooming department. I took my pup, Fibi, for a grooming a couple years ago and she had a super cute haircut, but ever since then she’s had a fear of nail trimming. Not sure if it was coincidence or not, but I don’t think she acted that way before taking her there for a grooming. Other than that, I’d still recommend Perfect Paws. My husband and I still come in here for needed supplies, and one of the staff members helped us save Fibi’s life when she contracted Parvo. The lady gave us advice on how to care for her and recommended a couple things that would keep her hydration levels up while she recovered. Great store And...
