Bayou Walk Shopping Center — Attraction in Shreveport

Update to my previous 4 star rating with a demerit. I'm taking it to 3 stars because the order online and pickup seem to have various workers that don't want to look for items.

Case: my order included 2 life basil plants. They marked it unavailable. 1 chicken stock low sodium was indeed out of stock. 1 package of Fiesta Star Anise was marked out of stock/unavailable.

I was invited to look for the items which irked me because my rationale: if you didn't see it then it must be out. Nope Nah. Never.

Went to the produce section and 7 basil plants were proudly standing while the star anise was definitely there but omitted. I don't know if they are unfamiliar with items and just give up or running behind fulfilling orders and felt rushed but it defeats the purpose of me ordering online to avoid shopping just to have to enter the store and...

Dollar Mania, on Bert Kouns, was great, especially with the remodeled update. I purchased two products that were priced @:$5.99. when I checked out, the products scanned for $9.99. So, the cashier guy tells me that it was not priced for $5.99. So, he goes to look at the price which took him way over 15 minutes. Basically, he was back there changing the price to $5.99. People these days and times are all about dishonesty. HECK, I should have known they were not about the business. They showed up 30 minutes late to open the store. I saw the same products on another side of town at another Dollar Mania for $0.65 cheaper. How you gone be late opening your business & have the nerve to be charging...

This store is the closest I'll get to my HEB experience in Texas (minus the warm homemade tortillas, fresh pico de gallo and guacamole). The selection of meat, bakery and fruit/vegetables is large and diverse. One thing I noticed here is that there weren't demo's of food items throughout the store like you'd find at HEB, but this is likely due to COVID concerns. This store also sells clothing and "stuff" you need for your yard and barbecue. The prices are generally good for most items except the meat.
