This was a bucket list item to spend a night in a lighthouse. It was difficult to find one where you stay in the lighthouse itself, much less be alone in the middle of a harbor on a small “island”. We reserved our stay eight months in advance, and the experience did not disappoint. Kevin and Paul were helpful every step of the way, before and during. The five levels of the lighthouse are packed with gems, including multiple sitting areas, a vintage antique turntable with old records, scary movie DVDs. You can even see the light room, where there are excellent city views. The outdoor area is spacious, though we didn’t use it as much as we would have liked due to weather. The bathroom was adequate ( there is no tub or shower). There is one sink for the lighthouse, but we enjoyed the rustic appeal, the quiet. I would say it was a once in a lifetime experience, but now I would like to come back, maybe for two nights?
We spent 2 nights at this beautiful paradise on the water. We loved sitting out on the deck watching the boats and water go by, it was so relaxing being “off the grid”. Kevin was so accommodating, he definitely made sure we had everything we needed and the history he told us behind the Light was so fascinating. The weather wasn’t very cooperative but it didn’t matter we just bundled up because when you’re looking at those gorgeous views you forget how cool or wet you are lol. We used the heaters when we were inside which made it nice and cozy. We are definitely going back and staying 2 nights again because 1 night is not enough! It’s been a week since we’ve been back home and we still can’t keep talking about it. Thank you Kevin, John Paul, and Lucy for sharing your beautiful lighthouse with us!! We will see you again soon!! I definitely, without a doubt, recommend visiting, you won’t regret it for a second!
Amazing experience! Wonderful hosts! We flew in from Florida to stay at the Borden Flats lighthouse over a weekend in April of this year and had an awesome time! The lighthouse decor has an antique and cozy feel, we were instantly right at home. The weather was cool yet comfortable, we used the furnaces in the evenings which made things that much more cozy. We ordered all of our food for the weekend through Paul, he was extremely accommodating. Everything we ordered was wonderfully packaged and delicious, 5 star all the way! Kevin was in touch throughout the trip and went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable! If you are thinking about booking a trip to the Borden Flats Lighthouse, just do it, you won't regret it! This is a one-of-a-kind experience, truly! Thank you for a wonderful time Kevin, Paul, John Paul and Lucy! We will be back!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our overnight stay at Kevin's Lighthouse was nothing short of magical! The warm and inviting atmosphere provided an authentic glimpse into the lives of the historic light keepers. The boat ride to the lighthouse was thrilling, and learning about its rich history added to the enchantment. Kevin's dedication to preserving the lighthouse and sharing its beauty with others is truly commendable. Despite the weather not being ideal, it only enhanced the authenticity of the experience, making us feel like genuine light keepers. The photos Kevin took to commemorate our visit were exquisite and will be treasured forever. We cannot thank him enough for providing such a memorable and unforgettable experience. Five stars all around! - John and Marci MacDonald ❤️
Had the privilege of staying in the Borden flats lighthouse on our 10th wedding anniversary. Most lighthouses you have to stay in the cottage next to it but you get to stay actually inside this amazing lighthouse. You have the whole lighthouse to yourself, from ground floor all the way up into the working light. Standing outside the beacon was beautiful. The owner Kevin is such a nice man, explained the history and all the nooks and crannies. Superb get away from it all with stunning views. It is beautifully and tastefully furnished inside, in a period taste. It was a surprise for my wife and she absolutely loved it. Thank you Kevin for allowing us to stay in a piece of American history.
What an experience! Having stayed a night last August for our 25th wedding anniversary, we loved this experience so much, I asked Nick, the mastermind who restored this historic landmark to the incredible gem it is today, "if you ever decide to sell, give me a shout..." Never in a million years did I ever expect it to happen... as a result, I am honored to carry on his legacy in the restoration and ownership of this incredible piece of history! Come "STAY the LIGHT!"
