Fun Warehouse — Attraction in Myrtle Beach

Had birthday parties here for the last 8 years and usually had a good time. There was a miscommunication in the info provided to my guests causing two of them to leave and not come back costing me 2 of our permitted 12 people. The red-purple hair manager is HORRID to deal with. She is very unprofessional, only argues continuously, is rude, continuously talks over you without permitting you to speak, your wrong on everything as a paying customer, she distinctly stated when I mentioned I had 8 years of parties here that she worked here 6 years…and doesn’t apologize for anything because basically YOUR the problem. basically she could care less if you continued to come year after year, she made it quite clear our party wasn’t anything to her as she mentioned that she had 13 parties that day when I mentioned I was upset due to the loss of invited guests eapecially given our party was a platinum party that I ordered a ton extra costing $600 not including the cake of 56 bucks and then my decorations….. when I stated, due to her attitude towards me, I would just cancel and go elsewhere she became very rude and made sure to voice LOUDLY that she does not refund my deposit which honestly I could care less about that nor did I even ask nor mention because That honestly was the least of my worries. I’d rather lose out on 200+ bucks than deal with this disrespect. I gave my daughter the option whom decided to stay. had it not been for her choosing to stay I would have left asap. The ONLY reason for my somewhat good stars was because our party personnel was amazing and made me feel very accepted and was kind. I def hope the almost $90 dollar tip goes to ONLY her because the manager was horrendous.. Sadly I won’t be doing another year here and it’s sad because my younger kids would have had another party here but NOT ANYMORE. The manager made it quite clear my money and time meant nothing and was not apologetic whatsoever that my guests were misinformed causing them to leave. Not once did this manager apologize for this miscommunication just merely made a point to ensure I felt very unwelcome, very unappreciated as a customer, that her staff did nothing wrong, and me and my guests were the issue, and just overall to not even bother having any of my 3 kid’s parties here. No worries or sweat here this is Myrtle beach as a good customer who spares no cost for my kids I won’t be wasting money here again def don’t want to be told I’m the problem when I lost guests and almost ruined my daughter’s event but again like she said she has “13 parties” so basically I’m just another on her list. Horrible but hey that’s ok glad I know now before I wasted 8 more years or more here. What’s what good customer anyway I guess? This company seems to think we’re a dime a dozen and could care less. Living in this area 19 years and knowing a large amount of people and family as well as working in a position where I am constantly in direct association with the public I am def never recommending this place to anyone for a birthday party. Spend good money elsewhere where the staff and managers don’t make the customer feel very unappreciated and as if it doesn’t matter that they chose their location. Without customers no location would survive. Without someone paying and being there to make a job for someone the workforce here would cease to exist. Whether Wrong or right of a customer to be upset when losing attendees due to miscommunication from the staff to attendees or whatever the situation there is no reason for a manager or staff of any kind to make a paying customer feel so unwanted, uninvited, and as if their event is just another event on the books. This is so unprofessional and not needed during a already stressful time. Arguing that your right and the customer is wrong to make yourself feel better or not yield is also beyond unprofessional and this manager def thinks she does no wrong. Food is HORRIBLE as well. We were just looking for a place to get a quick go-kart ride in. Immediately we noticed the place was very clean; and that the games, equipment, and facilities were well maintained. So many fun things to do in one place! The Go-Karts were super cool. We were surprised by the interactive elements. It was our first time riding Go-Karts that have spots on the ground that provide speed boosts or slow you down. It felt like real life Mario Kart! The whole place and the activities felt really safe. In addition to a large staff of people who seem attentive and knowledgeable, they play a high quality instructional video prior to your ride that not only tells you everything you need to know about controlling the kart, but all of the safety rules and tips as well.

Our only complaint was that the karts are pretty small, which is fine - we don’t expect the whole world to be made for large adults - but when we purchased tickets from the ticket counter, a heads up from the customer service employee would have been nice. This would have helped us make a better informed decision on who would be the driver. I understand it would be difficult to tell someone they probably won’t fit into something, but ultimately this is a safety issue and it would be okay to fib a little such as “just so you’re aware these karts are designed for kids so the fit might be a little too snug for you”. Once we already signed the waiver(s) and purchased the tickets it felt like more of a hassle to change our mind. (Not to mention having an upsetti spaghetti 4 year old to deal with.) We awkwardly went through with the ride, but may have made a different choice had we been warned.

Overall we were impressed by this place and wish we had more time to hang around and take advantage of all the cool activities Fun Warehouse has to offer! I expected to see an arcade when I walked in, but not a skating ring!

If we find ourselves in the area, we will definitely visit again with more time to waste and smaller people for driving go-karts!

Note/Tip- The best spot for watching/photos of go-kart riders is outside the facility. There is no access to outside from the indoor area where the riders enter the track, so you have to go back out the front door and walk around to the side where you can stand outside the fence by the track. There is an emergency exit door on the inside area but I was personally too shy to ask if we can use it despite there being no emergency, so I’m not sure what the view would be like when...

I would give zero Stars if it were allowed... Only went there for the go-karts with my son. Don't even think about it unless you're five years old or younger. My cart only made it around the track one time before the battery died. The track attendant was going to put me in another car but by the time I got in it it was over. Truly they need to explain to people that these carts are so incredibly slow to start with if you're a lucky like me and get a cart with no battery... The attendant did say they were very busy yesterday and have not charge them all. Lucky me only thing I wanted to do was to race my thirteen-year-old in a friendly competition. He won $10 off of me because we bet the winner would get $10. I would have asked the clerk or a refund but after a 10-minute wait and never being acknowledged I just left. The bottom line is take very small children to this facility not older ones. Very very very disappointed the truth be known they only have 3 people running the whole facility today so I do feel empathy for those employees. Even the track attendant couldn't help me for having to monitor the other cards he needed help. The front attendant couldn't take money and help people with their points because she needed help the only person I saw that was available was at the roller skating area. So, for me, fun warehouse is nothing more than a money pit for 5 year olds. They do have a lot of video games arcade style and it did look pretty cool so I can't really say for those two items. Update... April 22nd 2018... I noticed a post from the owner asking if I had responded by seeing a manager there but unfortunately he must not have read the review there was no manager available in one young lady was running the phones the ticket counter and the entrance and she was very overwhelmed... They needed more staff... The manager responded that he would like to hear more but unfortunately he didn't read what I had posted. The way to make it right is to refund the money back to my card and to apologize... Unfortunately looks like many other places just lip service trying to make themselves look better than they are. They all say the same thing you should talk to a manager and we'd like...
