South Jordan Recreation Center — Attraction in South Jordan

This review is strictly for the pool. It is is a fun pool with a lazy liver and slide, however, you can't count on anything being open when you go. The past two times, stuff was shut down. Two times ago- the entire lazy river was shut and the slide and water features, which leaves not much to do. I'm here again tonight and these lifeguards have no idea what they're doing- feels like they try to do the least amount of work possible and will do whatever they can to keep stuff shut down so they don't have to work and can chat with each other and goof off/ dance. We were told the slide would open at 5:30 and when it didn't; they said they needed 6 lifeguards to open it and check back at 6. I was told this when I could see more than 12 lifeguards here. I checked back at 6 when the new shift arrives and was told that they needed 9-10 lifeguards and wouldn't be opening the top/slide. The lifeguards then did a fist bump- I could tell they dislike opening the slide and lazy river. Sydni was extremely rude and unhelpful. These teenagers need help running their shift so they can actually open the features that we parents bring our kids to. They were also blasting inappropriate music, with swearing- with young children in the pool, at a volume that i’d consider a safety hazard. I couldn’t even talk to my kids. They also blew the whistle for a 10 minute break 5 minutes early and kept kids out for 15 minutes- these breaks used to be 5 minutes and are everywhere else. It's ridiculous. The South Jordan Fitness and Aquatics Center is a Great Receation center. With membership, patrons can use the pool, all machines, use the courts, and take as many group Fitness classes as wanted.

The group Fitness instructors are excellent! They excel in offering great classes, fun ways to work out, and modifications if needed. There’s a huge variety of classes offered from strength (Core, TRX), to cardio classes (Zumba, Spin, High Fitness, and Water Aerobics). Other classes offered are Barre, Yoga, ballet, and cross training.

There are tons of machines to exercise on. Most are in very good condition. There’s a walking track upstairs. Many people join in Pickleball games, basketball, and volleyball. There’s also an indoor soccer field. The pool has a lazy River, a big slide, and small slides for little ones. It would be great if there were an outdoor pool available too!

I love this Rec center because the employees and patrons are kind and good people for the most part. It’s a nice atmosphere to get some exercise and make friends doing movement activities.

Salt Lake County needs to put money into this facility. The air condition has been broken in the dance rooms for months without repair. It’s difficult to do a high cardio class in a warm room with many other patrons. *The pool filtration system is old and needs to be replaced. DO NOT EVER BOOK A PARTY WITH HERE. I booked my son’s 10th birthday party here and when his guests and I showed up at the time it was supposed to start we found out the pool was closed due to “no staff” they didn’t even try to reach out to me to let me know they would be closed and did not offer much support as to what to do. It was very upsetting and we had to find another pool to go swimming at and redirect all guests there. I could not believe how unprofessional it was, I booked the party two months in advance and they had no problem taking the money I paid for the service but when it came down to us using the service it was not an option. Now I have to work on getting a refund and my child’s birthday was ruined. I have never had this happen and I am so grateful gene filler allowed us to use their party room which is normally closed on Sundays. They told us at gene filler this happens often at south Jordan and they have guest come to gene filler instead due to this. It breaks my heart that others have had to experience this amount of disappointment and stress that this poorly ran business caused us.
