Update: went back today, and got the papa Loka! Game changer!! Changing my 3 stars to 5 because they added more spicy sauces onto the salsa bar. And the service was better! Love this place now. Will be back again… 😊
Going start with the good and then I’ll end with whatever feedback that can make this place waaay better. Good: The salsa bar is so pretty and it has lots of variety to choose from! Cucumbers, like 6 different salsas, cilantro, onion, you name it! It’s so clean and brand new inside presentation wise. The music was very Latin based which that’s the kind of music I want to hear when I’m eating tacos, obviously. Loved the presentation of the tacos. Aesthetically pleasing and looks appetizing. Now here comes a few suggestions, these are personal suggestions might I add. My tacos barely had any guacamole in it! And I was expecting a good smear on it haha. Out of all the options of salsas. Make one that is spicier, you know (Tijuana style). I ordered two tacos de carne asada and 1 de adobada. The carne asada was a bit chewy, but the flavor was good. I prefer a little more char on my carne asada though.I think what makes a good place that keeps people coming is also customer service which this is a brand new place! Smile a little maybe? Look excited ? And welcome people, that’s what gets people coming back! Like I said, this is just my personal opinion. I will be back to give it another try because I think it...
Read moreMy husband enjoys the tacos here. The meat is shaved when ordered, keeping it moist, the guac is always fresh, and he enjoys the selection of good salsa available from the salsa bar. I always get the papa loka. Unfortunately, I have experienced vast differences in quality with the potato. Three times (the first 3 times I went) the potato was fresh, made perfectly, and delicious. However on the 4th time, the potato was old and not good. The papa loka costs $11 and I could not even it eat. That was a waste of money. I thought it was because I went on a Saturday and maybe they had to prep the night before or something, but went again today (a Tuesday) and while it was not to the point I had to throw it away this time, the potato was not fresh and was on the verge of being too old. I don't understand why this is the case. Potatos are cheap and do not take an exceptionally long time to make. I feel that when a customer is paying $11 for a potato with a little shaved meat on top, that the customer should not be receiving potatos that we cooked the prior day or days before hand. I would like to see this issue resolved as I would be a frequent customer if the quality were...
Read moreI've been to tacos 1095 a few times now. I've had their Asada, Tripa, adobada, lengua, and that potatoe dish I can't seem to remember the name.
Asada: not my favorite. But to be fair, no one really makes good asada in Utah that I've found besides a place in Provo 3/5. Tripa: not bad. I enjoy it. I get it extra crispy. My only beef (get it) is that its not grilled from the get go. But I get it, and I enjoy the taco. 4/5 Adobada: Their version of pastor. It's good. 3/5 Lengua: tender, flavorful, I like it. 3.5/5 The crazy potato one is really good. 4.5/5.
I saw other comments where the near want sufficient, I saw the pictures and agree. My experience was different! My tacos were well made with a decent amount of meat.
I love their tortillas. They are homemade and very good.
I also enjoy their variety of aguas (natural drinks) and they taste good. They have decent salsas as well.
I'm a fan of having the owner come out and greet their customers. When he was there, he was very attentive and I really appreciate that. Overall, decent and recommended. I know I'll be...
