Stopped by Sri Annapoorani during lunch time. They are a new restaurant and there was another Indian restaurant here before. It was a little loud because they were getting the new restaurant sign up. The ambience was clean with a lot of natural lighting.
Our food was fantastic. We had three different food items and two different drinks. The Rose milk which I believe is milk base with a rose tea flavor was very good. The Mannari Sarbath was my favorite as it was light and refreshing also tea based with chia. Just the right amount of sweet.
Our first food itemswas the fried garlic noodles with aromatic garlic and fried veggies. That was one of my favorites and highly recommended. The second item was the onion Podi Dosa. Crunchy, flaky and thin but very large. The potato stuffing lacked some flavor but it complimented well with the doing sauces, which all had amazing flavors and a kick of spices. Our last item was more of a lunch sampler, the lunch Thani special. Fried potatoes with okra, wild rice, tofu curry with peas that had the most amazing texture.
The food comes out in about 10 minutes as it is done with care, the staff was very nice and friendly. I shall return as I wanted to try the fried cauliflower and they told us they couldn't cook it...
Read moreThey are truly an authentic South Indian style restaurant. Today was my first time trying their food, and it honestly made me cry because it reminded me so much of home. I have been trying to get good dosa for a very long time. Thank you so much. 😊
I tried the combo breakfast which included masala dosa, pongal, vada, idli with sambar, green coconut chutney, and tomato chutney. Everything tasted pure and authentic — nothing extra, just perfectly balanced. • Masala dosa – 10/10 • Pongal – 10/10 • Vada – 10/10 • Dosa sambar – 10/10 • Coconut chutney – 10/10 • Idli – 8/10 • Tomato chutney – 8/10
My only request: if there are ever management or chef changes, please don’t let the taste change. You are doing everything right. Authentic dosa places are very rare in the USA, and you are one of the few that still carries that true taste. Please keep it this way!
I absolutely loved everything about my experience here — it warmed my heart and made me feel at home. Truly unforgettable! 💛♥️💙💜💛
Sorry I didn’t take any photos. I was too much into the food that I forgot to take a picture. Will take the...
Read moreI recently read an article in Utah’s oldest food magazine Gastronomic, Salt Lake City, about a new Indian street food restaurant that had opened in South Jordan, Utah, Sri Annapurani. And, you better bet I was trying it that very day.
To quote the writer: “Sri Annapurani is the premier Indian restaurant in Utah, and as someone who has tried almost all of them, I don’t think there is much competition. Please go, and don’t be afraid ….”
The head chief and co-owner Aishwariya Raghavendra partnered with the owners of the Indian chain Munchkart to create Sri Annapurani, an Indian restaurant specializing in vegetarian dishes from South India. She came out to talk to me about their menu, and daily specials, and encouraged everybody to try a Dosa and their Indochinese menu.
Everything was fantastic, good value for dollar, and friendly South...
