Before today, I had good interactions with S. Tahoe DIY Store, mostly with the lovely older lady that mixes the paint colors in the Paint Section of the store. Never really had a hot/cold reaction to the front check-out clerks until today (though I think they go a little overboard with the ID on ATM cards seeing that our PINSand photos on the card should be enough). Today I went in around 11AM (a Monday morning), so i thought it would be nice and easy going to grab a extra-heavy duty, all weather, 20-Amp, extention cord for our Air Conditioner upstairs. I had only seen one possible cord in the isle that had a 20-Amp rating, but I was 50/50 on the knowledge if it was correct for what we were using it for. I tried to flag an associate down for 5-10min , but I was getting tired and out of breath, so I decided to just stand in the long line to check-out and just ask one of the gentleman there. (little side note here...this day I am expecting problems breathing due to autoimmune disease/post-COVID-19 long- haul issues and was clearly wearing a mask with my oxygen on. I have a handicapped Id also) When I got to the front of the line, one of the young ladies said she could ring me up, but I asked first if she knew anything about the cord, etc.. nope, not really, but one of the gentleman did, so I was going to wait for him. But in the meantime, all of the clerks, as they finished with each sale and I was going to be next (so I could ask questions and/or get checked out on the item) they ignored me and helped the next person in line... so I just stood there, with this stupid $75.00 extension cord, not knowing if it will work, asking for help, with a mask on, oxygen in my face, hurting like hell, and mad as hell! I know it wasn't the young lady's fault because she was the only one helping me. So thank you to the young lady who, even though could not help me with information, she was able to do my check-out fast so I could get to my truck. Please, I ask that you educate your employees about people that have issue standing for long periods of time and people that are oxygen dependent. It can be very hard to go to a store and stand and walk, it can be very tiring and uses a lot of the bodies' resources to do such small tasks... Now I have to come back to get a different cord! If only someone could have taken 30-90 seconds to help me! But instead, I got eye rolls and laughed at. Incredible.
The you lady that helped me-...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of purchasing a chainsaw from JoniLynn at DIY SLT, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I walked in, JoniLynn greeted me with a warm, genuine smile and an impressive knowledge of the products.
What stood out most was their ability to truly listen to my needs. I wasnât entirely sure which chainsaw would be best for my specific tasks, but JoniLynn took the time to ask insightful questions and provided several options, explaining the pros and cons of each in a way that was easy to understand. Their expertise was evident, but what I appreciated even more was their patienceânever once did I feel rushed or pressured into making a decision.
The chainsaw I ended up purchasing has been perfect for the jobs I needed it for, and I owe that to JoniLynnâs recommendation. They made sure I left the store not only with the right product but with the confidence to use it safely and effectively. Itâs rare to find someone who goes above and beyond like JoniLynn did, and it made my entire shopping experience both enjoyable and stress-free.
I highly recommend JoniLynn to anyone in need of expert advice and outstanding customer service. Theyâve earned my...
Read moreUnbelievably rude clerk. I grumbled at having to show a driver's license when my photograph was right there on my credit card. OK, my fault so far. After showing her my license and saying that she now had no better verification of my identity than she already had from my photo on the card, the clerk belligerently told me that I would show her my driver's license and I would do so every time I came in. This attitude toward a faithful customer pushed me too far, so I said OK then give me a refund. She took back the items and said, not without your driver's license. Wow! After refusing to get a manager, I said OK then just give me my stuff. She refused, so I said, now this is theft. Give me my stuff or I'll call the police. She finally gave me my stuff. I'll of course never go back, but the moral of the story is that people complain about violence and hate in the news. But the problem isn't with somebody else, it's with us. If we all (yes, me too) just use our brains and hearts and treat each other with the respect we ourselves need, things will get better; customers won't be lost, clerks won't be upset, and little by little, our lives will get better, one...
