Lakeview Commons — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

Whether you are a tourist or an SLT resident, Lakeview Commons is a beautiful place to stop with sweeping views of the lake where you can stay at road level and relax at a picnic table and have a barbecue or walk down to beach level and stroll right next to the lake. There is no charge for parking and I have never experienced an issue being able to park here. Also, everyone is so very friendly - that's been my experience anyway. If your in a nearby hotel make sure you ask if they have free beach passes otherwise they want $8 a head at the gate. Nice small beach though with nearby rentals. One tip...tahoe sand is NOT like regular sand. I had no clue. That is until our feet felt like they were being rubbed raw lol! The grains are more like small pebbles. I recommend wearing sandals or water shoes just in case. I dont have sensitive feet and it still hurt...a lot! There is a nice area in the water that is safe for swimming. It is blocked off so boats can not enter. Grab your sunblock and go check it out. Nice...

Great place to hang out in South Lake Tahoe . You can sit on the bench and breath fresh air . The view is great and the color of water like emerald ! You can see people sailing by or parasailing . A lot of motor boats are in this area . There is a parking spot less than 50 feet away which allows you to park your vehicle for $18 and take your boat under the road directly into the lake which makes it easy for people who like boating !
