If I could give this place zero stars, I would but unfortunately itās not an option. This DMV either needs better employees or a better system with how they handle document request because Iāve been going back and forth with this location for two months and I still havenāt gotten my registration for my car. A few things about this DMV.
Donāt call the number. No one bothers to answer the phone and itās all automated. By the time you get to the end of the automated message, it automatically hangs up. So if you were out of state and need to call the building about your registration, no one will pick up the phone. Requesting for documents/ registering for a vehicle. As I stated before, Ive been going back and forth from Las Vegas to South Lake Tahoe for two months for my carās registration. I had all the proper documents to register my car but I was told I needed the Title of my car. Hereās the thing, there is no need for the title because a). Iām still paying the car off and b). The dealer doesnāt provide that to you until you pay your car off. I had explained to the workers here and they kept asking for other documents that I had provided the previous time but hadnāt marked that it was provided. The attitude absolutely sucks from the employees here. When speaking to them and explaining what we need to get, their response is treating you like you donāt know what you are talking about or speaking to you in a way an adult speaks to a toddler. You can tell they donāt like their job and yet, they choose to treat us customers with the āI really donāt care to help youā attitude. When you provide the documents they ask, they question you about it before actually looking at what was provided to them. I was asked about the registration from Nevada and I provided it to the lady. Hereās a little background info, I registered my car with girlfriend so her name is on the registration. So, when I gave my Nevada registration to the lady, she automatically questioned if I was my girlfriend before really looking to see my name is under the registration as well. They are so quick to dismiss you before you can give them a chance to show what they looked over.
This place overall sucks and needs an upgrade of their employeeās attitude. Wonāt ever recommend...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWas hoping for a reasonable experience - unfortunately "Ian" was dead set against that and even after speaking with the manager "Shelly" I didn't get the sense that anyone at the SLT DMV office cares about customers, much less employee performance/rudeness. Long story short: my wife and daughter went down to take the written drivers license permit test. All forms of ID had been uploaded and things were set. With a gruff and hostile manner, Ian basically told them (incorrectly) that they couldn't do this without an appointment (which the DMV hasn't even making for months). That's NOT what the DMV recording nor website states however. Anyway, they came home unsuccessful. I called the DMV and was on hold for an hour before speaking with "Dave" who shared the SLT office just must be lazy, since those services were actually being offered, and did NOT require an appointment. Second trip to the DMV office -- and I had to go this time since my wife was unconfortable after her experience with "Ian" - and more waiting in line but "Ian" is not staffing the desk this time. More waiting, but things go smoothly this time, daughter takes the test, and comes out with her learners permit. I see the manager Shelly outside, and patiently wait for her to share our experience. While not completely dismissive, she seemed more interested in telling me why their office only handles "emergency" cases first thing in the morning rather than being receptive to info on a hostile employee. Oh well - we'll find another DMV...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCould not make appt when I received my notice to renew drivers license. Next available date was already two weeks past my deadline and my attempt was 6 weeks prior to my deadline. So I showed up on July 18th at 11:30 and was in a line of 15 folks waiting to be checked in. That took a very long time. I did not time that part. I was sent to a computer to sign in and directed to come back to the check in counter. I tried 3 computers and finally had to have someone come over and " clear" them as they would not accept my input. When I finished, I checked back in and was directed to wait until the number I was assigned came up. I was finally called to the counter at around 3:45. Then I was directed back to the computer to take the test. Only one glitch this time. And it all moved very quickly at that point. Maybe 20 minutes tops? I waited over 4 hours just to get 20 minutes of work done at the DMV. I was waited on by the person at Window 4. He was professional and efficient. And he was friendly and personable as well. He was the only good thing about that experience. The rest was a total joke. And I'm thinking no one in charge will see these words and this will have been a...
