I have been coming here for years just before HAN in Reno.. GOOD POINTS Large camp spots. Mostly good people for short talk witch is good for me. I travel alone and not much of a talker any ways. I enjoy kicking back and having a few beers and enjoy the views. Beach, coffee shop and sandwich shop across the street. I do take the bus and the stops are right by the site. BAD POINTS..Got up 7:00 A.M and somebody comes running over and asking when I was going to leave so he can have my spot. Did say he did not want to rush me, but still...To early in the mourning for this..Did not even have a cup a coffee yet. People walking through your camp site. One time kids bouncing beach balls off a brand new 2008 twin turbo F-350 truck did not say nothing for I figured the parents would. LIKE REAL GOOD PARENTS SHOULD. Finally I did and the lady thought I was just wanted to complain about something. I had explain to her and her husband along to her family THAT I WORKED VERY HARD FOR WHAT HAVE HERE. If they like to tare stuff up they need to do them self a favor and tare up there OWN stuff instead of others. If you have a problem, the park managers make it sound like don't come to me with it. Homeless people just right outside the park at your bus stop and at night. SO WATCH YOUR STUFF. I will continue to come here though I don't spend much time at the camp site during the day.....8-7-17 follow up..this was by far the best stay I had in the 7 years I have stayed here. Did ask a host about the internent and told me to enjoy my pain in a rude type way (she was a red headed lady) the other host on D loop they are very nice people and really enjoy there jobs. Go to them if you have any concerns. This is the first time for the internet issues..No big deal..go to the library and they will let you use the computer there and you don't need a card. Will be back again. Thank You too the lady that checked me in without me getting out of my truck. Very Very nice stay...can't wait tell next year. See you then. If it was not for that Red headed host (enjoy your pain)remark it would have went to 4 stars. For now we will keep it at 3. 7/6/2019 WAY BETTER STAY . Have not seen any homeless people out side the park at all. Already booked for next year. Bike shop across the street is great. The bus system has in proved 100% No hassles.Went to 5 STARS.Thanks 7/8/19 wont take any stars away for the Sargent Carter at the front gate . Really makes you feel at home. Likes to profile people. I do travel alone. People there do not like that. They don't have to worry. I am a law abiding citizen and NOT WEIRD IN ANY MANNER OF ANY WAY. PLEASE DO DON'T PROFILE PEOPLE IN LESS YOU KNOW THEM. PLEASE DON"T PROFILE ME. I enjoy coming here for health reason that I received defending this country during the cold war. When I leave I do feel better. The work I did able YOU to do what...

I have experienced the negative attitude of the camp host. In the middle of the day my daughter and her friend were sitting around the campfire area on our campsite, and they were just talking. The camp host goes up to my daughter's friend, gets in his face, and shouts at him. He didn't see me sitting back, so naturally I intervened. He also threatened to call the cops. Mind you, this was at 3:00 in the afternoon! I am strict on respect, and would never allow my kids to be rude or be disruptive towards others, but 3 in the afternoon and they were not being loud at all. Which is why I was so upset. I felt targeted, threatened and insulted by his demeanor. The next summer I was hesitant to go back, but by the urgency of my family I tried to make a reservation, and they actually did not allow us to stay there again. They said we had been "penalized", I have been camping there with my family for over 30 yrs. It was the last vacation I had with my dad! So sad! This place is a convalescent home where the host picks and chooses who he likes....

We originally booked this location for a quick three day layover as we were driving west from Minnesota. We had some truck trouble and had to stay a little longer. Now, traveling during COVID brought on its own unique issues, but being broke down during COVID was even worse.||||Thank you to Shane from the Campground, we were able to extend our reservation a few days. He was great to work with and as accommodating as he could be. I was very impressed with the services we received. I would highly recommend this campground. It is super close to the lake and a beach. It is walking distance to many stores and restaurants and also close to Nevada. Just a great stop during a stressful time.||||Well Done...

This campground makes me re-live many great memories... I love Lake Tahoe, and I think this is the best way to experience it. The campground has many sites, and while a few are too close to the road (losing that authentic camping feel), the others are in spots that still feel woodsy enough to forget you're in the middle of the city. The amenities are excellent, but not the most wheelchair friendly. It's pet friendly and allows RVs/trailers AND tents. There are also plenty of hook ups available. Really reccomend this place to anyone who wants to try camping for the first time and just anyone who enjoys camping.

It was a beautiful place to go, you could walk to the stores or lake, or was really nice where we choose the campsite it was on D loop and the lights of the stores were amazing when I would look at them. It is a crowded campsite n they are really small but it's worth it if you dont mind not having any privacy what's so ever. One thing I hate about it it's that the person that was in the front was strict on how many people where going inside for each campsite, I have gone to other places that are more flex about that but not this campsite atleast that man.otyer th the n that it's a wonderful place to camp at.

I want to give it a 5 Star but bathrooms should be better kept and have sinks to wash your hands after using it. Also a good suggestion would be to increase amount of spots with electrical as they sell out fast and are $10 more a night so even increase the rate for electrical spots to help cover sinks in bathrooms and running toilets that staff say they know about but don't seem to care to fix. All that said, you can't beat the location next to the lake. Wonderful restaurants and water rentals.
