El Dorado Beach Recreation Area — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

Aug-14 we went out favorite beach park but it was at full capacity & so they had just closed it😭 so we went south down US50 to another beach park and found parking there. The beach is below street level & there is stone masonry seating & stairs built in 2011. It is shocking how low the lake water level is. We could walk out to the buoy markers and the water is less than waist high! Normally the beach is small but now it's at least double in area. At street level there are picnic tables with each having small charcoal BBQ grills but these are currently covered up. Also there are restrooms at street level and they have rentals for...

Great Place to take a break!!!

Stopped off to look at the clear blue waters, and just breath in the clean air. Really is a beautiful vantage point of the lake! (Aside from the homeless guy taking a prayer break in waste deep water (only 50 degrees outside that afternoon) while still dressed.)
