Tahoe Toys and Treasures — Attraction in South Lake Tahoe

Three stars only because of my first visit with the shop. I want to give more but second visit left a sour taste. I frequent tahoe often for work, but don't live there. So I decided to check out this store. Atmosphere is mystical and nostalgic. I like the feel.

First visit, clerk who helped was maybe in his mid 30s. We talked a little shop about TCG. I bought a One Piece starter deck with a few loose packs. He wished me luck on my packs. I left the store feeling happy and thought "I'd come back".

Second visit today, behind the counter was a younger kid. Maybe college age. I ask a few questions about their One Piece inventory, kid mumbles "mmmmm no, that's it", so I ask, "when do you guys restock shelves?" This time making no eye contact, he mumbles in an irritated tone "my boss would know that". Okay, as if your boss is around for me to ask? The kid portrayed a strong "i don't want to be here" vibe. I was about to buy a few toys for my daughters, i even had them on the check out counter in front of the kid, but after that interaction, I put the toys back and left. Jaeson at Tahoe Toys and Treasures is a great guy and really cares about his business. I had an issue at his business that involved an employee and their misstep in judgement. As a small business owner our employees are the face of our company and dream. You do your best and hire the best you can in hopes that they care for the business as you do. After leaving a review on my experience he reached out to me via Google reviews and went above and beyond. You can't always measure a business by first impressions. I try to buy from smaller mom and pop stores and this company is by far one of the best. Thank you Jaeson. You are running a great business and I would highly recommend anyone in the tahoe area looking for games while on vacation to stop in. They have an amazing selection and great prices. I have no doubt we'll be stopping to support this fantastic local shop next time...

Been there many times, bought stuff many times. I am a local. love the store but went in there 20 minutes before the store Closed with some friends. The lady in there said kinda rudely "i'm closing in a few minutes." And I questioned it but was like okay we will probably leave in about 5 minute. I went to go grab pokémon cards TO BUY and she rudely said " keep those up here unless you're gonna buy them." So I put it on the counter and we left.
