They should rename this gym to “Planet Cardio” because that seems to be their main focus. I counted AT LEAST 90 cardio specific machines. I estimate their cardio equipment accounts for 40% of their total gym floor. That’s insane. The heaviest dumbbell is 75lbs. Also, insane. This business (not just this location) has this “no ego” mantra which I find very uninspiring and unmotivating. While I personally do not believe in “ego lifting” because it hinders progress, this company is going overboard with their seemingly WOKE stance on fitness. They hide little stickers all over the gym that constantly remind you “ego is bad”. I’m not even kidding, I had to laugh out loud. It’s ridiculous. I agree, being egotistical can be bad, but in the context of personal development, especially in a gym setting where the goal (should be) to increase body health, lose fat, and replace it with lean muscle, constantly telling your customers to “take it easy, guy, this is a no ego zone” in my opinion will do nothing but hold people back subconsciously. I could go on and on about this particular topic, but that’s not what this review is about! Anyways, some positives I found at this location, and keep in mind, this is the only PF I have ever been to: the men’s locker room was very nice. No bad odors, soft lighting, clean, tons of space and lockers. Two thumbs up for the locker room. The temperature inside the gym: very nice and clearly air conditioned. It was 95 degrees outside when I worked out here, and the ambient temperature inside the gym felt very nice and cool. The staff: I came into the gym having already downloaded their app as the Internet said it was the easiest way to obtain a free day pass. When I arrived I told the guy at the front that I had a day pass, he said ok, I scanned it, he said enjoy. No unnecessary tour, no sales pitch. Very nice. The crowd: not crowded at all. It was 2pm on a Friday when I was there and I didn’t see there being any wait for any piece of equipment or machines ESPECIALLY the cardio machines HAHA! Final thoughts: If your main goal is gentle, slow muscle growth with very little inspiration or physical discomfort, this gym is for you. If your goal is cardio, THIS GYM IS FOR YOU. But if you’re looking to build large amounts of muscle, be motivated by a likeminded atmosphere with likeminded athletes who are also there to push themselves to the max in order to achieve the body of their dreams, this is 150% not the gym for you. And no offense to the patrons of this gym, and I was only there for an hour (I couldn’t wait to get out of there), 9 out of 10 people looked out of shape and bored. And that’s a very good indicator of the atmosphere. No...

He rudely still told me that i “can’t prove i came in to cancel so he’s taking my word for it” even after he made me figure out the exact day that i was there to cancel so that he could “review the cameras.” It should not take a bad review to do the right thing for hour customers, and you shouldn’t treat your customers like criminals if you really can just look at the cameras to find out the truth. Just so the right thing in the first place. I shouldn’t have to fight for my money in the middle of a pandemic because your employee messed up.
Original post: I cancelled my membership in July after they finally reopened, and was till charged for every single month until November. When I called to have it fixed, there was never a manager available to talk to about having it refunded. I was always told that either Preston or Zack (assistant manager and manager) would call me back to handle the situation, but never received a call, so I had to call back every single day for over a week, because every day I was told there wouldn’t be a manager and they’d call me back.
When I FINALLY got a the assistant supervisor Preston on the phone, he told me he would only refund some of them because I can’t prove that I came in to cancel.
I can’t prove it because they never provided me anything saying I cancelled, because it turned out they never cancelled me in the first place. How was I supposed to know that normally they give an email? When I asked if it was cancelled, I was only told “it’s taken care of” by the person at the desk.
Poor customer service, zero follow up with customers, and incompetence by staff who supposedly cancelled me, but ultimately still cost me over $200 more in charges AFTER I cancelled.
Go to a different planet fitness if you must. Another brand entirely is preferable. But Zack and Preston at this location are crooks.
(By the way, I STILL haven’t gotten an email confirming I...
Read moreThe bathrooms constantly stay filthy. I have to clean feces off of the toilet before using almost every time. The people that come in make this gym work the guests 5 stars but management and how they operate is in desperate need of reform. This gym doesn’t incentivize its employees to have an ounce of pride in what they do. The pay is honestly insulting for the demands to clean all day and some of this cleaning is done with Q-TIPS. Like come on ?? $11.25 an hour ? no wonder complaints keep streaming in. Also the manager there is discriminating letting the morning shift girl tie her uniform up in a crop top but being sure to keep other employees held to uniform standards. There was an assistant manager that would come in for 1 hour and leave the rest of the shift. She would then ask myself or the other night crew to clock her out and this is the assistant manager that was supported by both GM and district manager to administer punishment to me for using a 15 minute break to work out. I had the choice of being fired or quitting. I quit and just hope hearts change or people see this dynamic and choose their place to train accordingly. I also encourage anyone that finds themself in a position of not being treated with equity or equality at work to call the number on the employee rights poster required by law to be up in every place of employment. The one in Planet fitness was buried behind a bunch of chairs, boxes,...
