Lush Cosmetics Southlake — Attraction in Southlake

I visiting this branch of lush today to purchase a mask I enjoyed a sample of and wanted to try out something new for my hair. Unfortunately, my experience with the sales associate around 7pm was very uncomfortable. I mentioned to her about my interest in trying something for my curls and heard about so and so products from my friend. She showed me one product which I explained I couldn’t use so asked if she had another suggestion (there’s so many curl products in the store) yet she seemingly lost interest in me and I had to do it on my own and asked for sample of a curl product. At this point she didn’t know I was going to purchase a mask during this visit, so she was ready to get rid of me thinking I was just here for a sample. Mind you the store was empty so idk why I was treated this way. Then I was like ok but I still have to get my mask and picked the one up to purchase and then suddenly both the associates want to help me! If I’m buying something, I get attention? I asked for 2 mask samples explaining how I purchased this one I was buying from a sample I got from another branch of lush. After giving me my 2 mask samples, the new associate says there’s a limit on samples. I was like okkk I’m buying a mask and I don’t know what products work on me, so I test lush out. But whatever, I go to the register and see the lip scrubs and ask the associate about them and once again she is uninterested in me. Her treatment at the register led me to not purchase a lip scrub along with that I will probably stick to going to another lush location or not...

So today’s Mother’s Day. It’s roughly 1400 when me in my wife walk in. We had wanted to look at the Mario items in stock and when we told the greeter this were told sure but we don’t have much left. (We found all but the bath bomb and the cloth wrap split between the three separate locations)

We take a few steps in and ask if it’s okay to have our umbrella as it’s started raining. The staff member looks around and tells us yes and leads us to the back of the store where there is no samplers.

From there we are lifer to our devices as more people come in we have things picked out and our mood are in a lifted state.

Enter the boomer known as Brandy fallowing us asking loudly who made this trail to which we answer it’s us sorry. Just to be slighted and in a rather unprofessionally tone of voice asked if we can put it away or put it at the front door. My wife is devastated as we asked permission. So I put it away at the front unbeknownst to me the lady made more comment and my wife has put away our items.

We leave but my wife is in a state I came back in and ask for a name from the staffer not knowing their pronouns.

Brandy if you read this if I want to be slighted and chastised by some one who didn’t raise me I would have spent Mother’s Day with my mother.

We will not be spending money here for the time being.

I hope other have a better mother...

Beautiful store, great product and amazing employees. The only downside is the manager who creates a hostile work environment for employees by harassing them, and threatening them on the floor in front of customers.

One day while shopping for bath bombs I witnessed this with my own eyes: a short, gaunt faced white woman sneering at her employee telling them “you’re lucky we hire your kind here!” When told by the employee “ma’am you’re being a bit racist” she exclaimed loudly “Me? I am NO racist. I have Mexican neighbors!”

I was besides myself. Before all this I planned to purchase several items, but decided that magic crystals, Lord of Misrule shower gel and a massage bar were enough. I had seen enough. While checking out I quietly told the employee I was so so sorry and that if they ever need a job that my company is hiring (starting pay is $20 with benefits, and if I remember correctly Lush employee get no benefits and are paid pennies while being expected to work very long hours with multiple duties and very low pay)

I cannot believe such a “progressive” brand has people like this working for them. I thought I was about to witness her...
