It has not even been a full week and the service at this Michaels location is still disappointing. First visit Last Sunday I went into the Michaels at Dorman Centre in Spartanburg. I had some questions about an item since I do not shop at this location or particular store often. I noticed an employee nearby putting out merchandise, so I said “Excuse me.” At first she did not respond. I repeated myself, this time in an even more gentle but polite voice. She finally turned to me and said “What?” with an irritated look, like I was bothering her. That interaction made me uncomfortable and I ended up leaving without finding what I needed. Second visit A few days later I decided to give the store another try since the item I was looking for showed up as in stock online. The moment I walked in, there was no greeting, no eye contact, no sense of welcome. I found one item on my own, but when I needed help finding another, I had to wait for the employees to finish their conversation at the front of the store. I finally saw one employee away from the bunch. I asked her for help for what I was needing , she walked ahead of me quickly to point out a general area that might help. Her attitude felt dismissive, like she really did not want to be bothered. Eventually I found something that might work. I could have used self checkout, but I had a question about whether the item could be returned. While waiting in line, I noticed the cashier was having a friendly and helpful conversation with the customer before me. That customer even thanked her for being so helpful, which stood out to me because I had not received any help like that. When it was finally my turn, I asked if I could return the item if it didn’t work. The answer was delivered in a sarcastic and condescending tone: “As long as it is in a returnable condition and can be resold.” Then she gave me a whole demonstration of how to open the package properly. That might have been fine if it had been said in a better way, but after two poor experiences in less than a week, the tone and delivery just added to the frustration. Final thoughts I really tried to give this store a fair chance, but both times I was met with cold, dismissive service. The difference in how some customers are treated compared to others is obvious. If you are looking for a place where the staff is welcoming and willing to help, this location may not be it.

Very dissatisfied with a custom frame I had made. I was under the impression it was going to have a window inside with the color edges and all that was done was the photo and papers were taped with edge stickers and it did not look professional at all. The bottom name tag was unaligned. Nothing was offered other than taking it apart and redoing it which I had no time to do. I am very unhappy with this outcome. I understand the materials used were good but the job looks awful. This was a special gift to my 82 year old mother. And I feel like I’m giving her something my 7 year old niece could have done. I could have bought a frame for $10 and glued everything myself instead of paying $108 for work that didn’t reflect what I expected.

Literally has a sign on the front window that says “fabric is here!” But I walked around the store 3 times, finally asked a worker where the fabric was. It was one aisle, no wonder I missed it. Wasn’t even both sides of the aisle, and the side of the aisle it was probably half full. They really only had basic patterned cottons, maybe a couple other things, but nothing even seasonal (at least for the current season). A lot of other areas seemed pretty sparse, too. But I’m mostly upset about the fabric since there’s literally a sign on the store advertising it.

Went to return 2 items that I had purchased the same day. I threw my receipt away and had already taken the trash out before I noticed that the materials that I had purchased would not work for what I needed so I did not have it with me BUT I used my member rewards. When I went back to the store to purchase additional items, I asked the one of the cashiers if I could exchange the items that I had purchased earlier that day. (Was a little over $7) Big mistake on my end for asking her to do her job apparently. It seemed to be the biggest inconvenience she had ever experienced in her life because I received eye rolling, huffing and puffing and worst of all ATTITUDE in response to requesting a simple exchange. I was asked for my ID which in some cases I do understand may be needed but this lady looked at it several times and looked back up at me to confirm that it matched my face. She didn’t even get anything off of it... just handed it back to me. Several minutes pass and she finally tells me she can’t exchange it that she would have to refund me the money in cash (I originally paid with a card and why could you not just do an exhange?) and goes on to tell me that I will be charged more for an item that was the EXACT same price. After politely explaining to her that is not what is on the sign she basically insinuates that I am lying. So, after taking a picture with my phone and bringing it back to her she continues to say “that isn’t the price for that item” ... AGAIN insinuating that I am lying although she just saw a picture of a sign that is in her store. Instead of walking back there herself, she disgustingly tells me she will go ahead and override the pricing as if she was doing me a favor. I understand people have bad days sometimes but I have worked Customer Service my entire life and I cannot fathom the thought of ever treating a customer the way that I was treated. To avoid being treated like trash I will be taking my business to Hobby Lobby going forward. I love Michaels but they should really reconsider when hiring rude employees to be the face of...

So I went to the Michaels in Spartanburg sc Dorman center.I was so excited because Michaels had flower wrapping paper that I was looking for to my Disappointment and bad Experience with the worker name Heather she was really unprofessional and apparently she didn’t know anything about the store. I needed help on what aisle the wrapping paper was at so I ask Heather “Hey ma’am would you know where I can find wrapping paper at or what aisle is the wrapping paper at” Heathers Answered was “If you don’t see it we don’t have nothing”. After that I asked “well could you Guide me in the right direction what I can replace wrapper paper for flowers” Heather was really rude saying”idk I don’t work in a flower Shop”. After that answer rude answer I said “okay thanks I will keep looking around see what I can replace the wrapping paper with. So I eventually came up where all the wrapping ribbon are at as I was looking for the perfect ribbon Heather the worker brought a Big ladder on that Aisle and Blocked my way of choosing the right ribbon. After all that trouble I was ready to check out so I did self checkout and at the counter on self checkout I found wrapping paper for glass vases and asked the Front cashier if I could grab like 12 wrapping papers that I needed after all they are free when you buy glass vases but either way I offered to pay for it if that was to much trouble out of no where here come Heather and tells me I can’t take 12 wrapping paper I tell Heather I will pay for the wrapping paper they are free anyways. Heather says no you would have to buy something Glass to grab free wrapping paper.Heather was not professional or helpful at all really disappointed with the way she...
