Let me start off by saying I'm an event planner. I have been in the events industry for over 10 years. I have done hundreds of events, corporate, private, birthday parties and more. I was assisting with some details for an upcoming Artist Showcase and was shocked and appalled by the venue itself and the owner and how he managed the event.
Where to begin?
First of all, there was NO discussion regarding a floor plan setup for the event I was assisting with and when we arrived HOURS early day of, the entire space was setup like a wedding reception. The tables were GLASS so they were heavy and difficult to move and the owner had NO STAFF hired to assist with setup. When we tried to rearrange the venue for the CONCERT we were having, he told us not to touch anything.
This is not even mentioning when he decided he wanted the artists to come in 2 DAYS BEFORE for a soundcheck and then DIDN’T even show up. The artists were left waiting outside in the cold for over 30 minutes before we all gave up and left.
When we did arrive, he wanted us to HAND DRAW a floor plan because he had not previously discussed or prepared to setup the room the way we wanted for the event, but also was acting like it was our fault for waiting so long to mention this. Excuse me, sir, you own a venue, this should be a REQUIRED piece of your job before the event begins.
Although we were there for setup HOURS early, we were not allowed to touch any furniture and the help the owner did bring in did not arrive until close to 7. The soundcheck was supposed to begin by 6:30, we didn’t start soundcheck until closer to 7:30 because of this. Also a couple of hours before the event began, we were notified that he did not have a bartender, so he was going to do it himself - although his invoice was for him DJ’ing. He basically told us to bring in our own DJ, although we paid $500 for him to do so. He ended up placing someone at the DJ equipment who is not a professional DJ and therefore we had tons of delays and complaints about sound for the night.
When we had arrived for setup there was literally water dripping from the ceiling onto his hard concrete floors. I mentioned it a couple of times of how much a liability it was, but he never seemed concerned as he never did anything to FIX the issue. There was literally wet puddles on the floor people could have slipped through and water dripping on guests heads during the show.
At the end of It all, we all left with a bad taste...
Read moreI will give some stars to this business. It was a somewhat nice place. My sister booked him for her birthday. First off he cut her party that was to end at 11, at 1020pm. He had dirty tables and floors that had to be cleaned as we were setting up. At the end of the night he rushed us out to set for a wedding. His bar was falling apart as when we were setting up, he had workers working on the bar in which they didn't finish nor did he have a sink or working water at his bar. We had to wait in the rain allowing everyone to see the bride before it was time for her to be seen because we only booked for the limo to drop us off at the start time if the ceremony.
