Employees are SO rude and miserable - Including the manager. I was shopping around when I heard the announcement that the store would close in 15mins, went to check out and was told $91, thought it was odd since I only picked up a few things but paid and left. Checked the receipt when I was down the road and realized I bought 1 ornament but was charged for 25 of them.. called the store to let them know since I was on rt 22, the gps said i would get there in 8 mins (5:33, the store closes at 5:30). I explained what happened and said I would be there at 5:33, lady proceeds to tell me that the cash registers automatically shut down at 5:30….. if I was 5, I would have probably believed her. She lied and I called her out. She put me on hold and said I had to come back another day. I explained I lived in NY and was not going to make a 3 hour trip over THEIR mistake when I was just down the road. She told me to “hurry”. I get there and the manager at the front said rudely “can I help you? We’re closing” I explained what happened and she said “you can go to register” with an attitude. She was just plain miserable and rude. I got my refund, and left. No one apologized, and no one was nice about the situation. I don’t care that someone made a mistake, I’ve worked retail for YEARS, management and non management, mistakes happen. BUT, it costs $0 to be nice. So absolutely rude and I’ll never go there again. Customer service is the heart of retail… if you don’t have good service, you’re not stopping your customers from clicking a few buttons and getting their orders right at their doorstop in a matter of days. I get it, tough times, but kindness...
Read moreI'm not a person who likes to leave bad reviews to any store. But Hobby Lobby Springfield store never gives me any good customer experience when I purchase fabrics there. I went there several times. Every time when I hold a bunch of fabrics and ask for their staff's help to cut the exact yards that I want, they are never happy with that just because I choose many fabrics which causes more workload for them! They gave me complaining faces all the time, or some of them even just complained in front of me while pointing at the fabrics in the shopping cart that I chose. They cut the fabrics much more slowly compared with other fabrics companies. One time, there is a staff even asking me to put the fabrics back to the aisles myself after she finishing cutting them. I feel this is ridiculous because this should be their work. I also purchased fabrics from other stores like Joann. Staffs in Joann or other fabrics companies are MUCH MUCH better and more efficient. They are always willing to help. Even though I bought so many fabrics (much more than Hobby Lobby), they are always happy with that because they told me this is why they open the store - serving people for whatever they would like to buy. I really think this should be the correct way to do business! If there is no certain reason I have to go Hobby Lobby Springfield store, I will never go there again! Just don't like the staffs' working attitude at all. I don't know if they are paid well, but from my point of view, they don't. Otherwise, why they don't want sell more and have such a bad...
Read moreI love hobby lobby stores. Always find what I need and prices are not totally outrageous. I drive close to 1.5 hrs to this store for this reason whenever I have a project. The 2 star rating is for the unfortunate occurrence. I was getting rung up at the register by not the most friendly person but thats not the issue. All of the items I have picked up had barcodes for scanning at the register and yet it was being rung up manually. She was punching in the prices by hand. Granted I should've paid more attention on the spot but unfortunately I did not discover until I drove all the way back home that instead of being charged $0.79 for a felt sheet l was charged $7.99 and since I had multiple of them I was over charged by over $7 per piece. As I said, I acknowledge my mistake for not paying attention but why in the world do you have a scanner on the register but the items are entered manually. I don't know if this is a purposeful way of ripping people off but something needs fixing.
After reading other reviews I now understand that this location has an issue with friendliness/helpfulness and manually punching in prices. This is clearly not working, good thing HL has a bunch of stores 30 min apart of...
