Firehouse Subs Campus Plaza — Restaurant in Springfield

I want to start by saying, I really want to like this place! My boyfriend really enjoys a sandwich (his always has a lot of meat and looks good. Not my kind of sandwich though) from here and it’s close to my work. Anyway, we have been here I think 4 times now in the past few weeks. I have tried two different sandwiches. I am ALWAYS shocked by how little meat there is. I kept thinking each time maybe it’s me, surely they weigh the ingredients, this must be a fluke. I have decided today that I don’t really want to go back or maybe I need to order the cold deli options moving forward. I’m not sure yet. I have had the Turkey Thanksgiving option twice and it’s basically a sandwich with stuffing and cranberry jelly, I then tried the brisket sandwich and it was pretty much mayo & cheese. I looked at the pictures once, twice, three times and it is just not what is advertised at all. I snapped a picture this last time and asked my boyfriend repeatedly if it’s me! He assured me my sandwiches are definitely lacking and I know it’s not just me unfortunately. Maybe I’ll try...

While the food had good flavor, I wasn't thrilled with our order. We ordered from Lightning Delivery and had it delivered. I realize that the prices are jacked up through that service, but I'm usually okay with paying that when I don't have an option to go out. I wish I would have done further research into this restaurant because then I might have discovered that a small means barely 4 inches! Not a big deal except when you pay almost $7.00 for that 4 inches. That is completely ridiculous. It was an additional almost $3 for a medium and almost another $6 to get the large. I feel that Firehouse should at least supply Lightning Delivery with a better size guide for the sandwiches so you know what you are getting. I was very disappointed, which is sad, because the sub did taste really good, which is the only reason they are getting 2...

I pick up lunch for my entire work and this is a popular pick. This is my 3rd or 4th time coming into this location. The food is awesome. I've switched up my order a couple times and everything I have tried has been great and fresh. Lots of flavor. However, the staff here sucks. Between having an attitude in general, having an attitude with another member, or being overall just short and to the point, It just really seems like nobody wants to be there! Which in turn makes it an uncomfortable experience. Today during my order I asked for some extra pickles on the side and some extra sauce on my sandwich. When they gave me my order I asked if they did that for me, I got a short yup with a walk off. They were not. Due to this it makes it hard to want to come back...
