We visited for a work lunch recently. We were promptly seated but the rest of our service was terribly slow. They must be short staffed. We waited 10 min for drink orders to be taken. Then we waited a long while to order our food. Eventually everyone’s food came but my sandwich was missing it’s bacon. That took 15 minutes to fix (all while everyone else’s food was getting cold). No apologies about the lack of speed, nothing. What could have been a 45 min lunch experience took 90 minutes instead. Flavor wise, everything was ok. My side salad was probably the best part. My turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich was a good sized portion, and the ingredients seemed fresh but overall it was pretty bland and boring. The dressing on the sandwich lacked flavor and the turkey wasn’t seasoned at all. The restaurant was very clean, well lit, and comfortable. The Christmas decorations were nice. Overall theming is a bit odd and eclectic. I’m willing to try it again, but currently based on the lack of flavor of the food and slow service, it’ll be a while.

Atmosphere at this place is amazing, there was a local teen playing guitar in the lobby, and it’s beautifully decorated inside. Came here for their monthly buffet, and sadly, they no longer have crab! There was unlimited shrimp though, and that was nice, but it sure ain’t crab. They had a bunch of really good desserts, but for how much we paid ($50 per person for the buffet without drinks) we left feeling like it wasn’t our moneys worth. Part of that was because even with a reservation we ended up waiting a while to be seated 10-15 minutes, and then after we were seated, it took another 5-8 minutes for our waiter to come and explain things. The desserts were excellent, but the dinner buffet, to me, was just alright. Plus, the dinner buffet is downstairs, so if you have anyone with accessibility issues, keep that in mind, since I didn’t see any elevator.

Monet was our server. She did an excellent job on many levels. She made my birthday a memorable event with excellent and attentive service! She and others from the team were on top of keeping our drinks full. When I was ordering fries for my daughter who has celiacs disease, she cautioned me that the fries were not gluten free. That was appreciated! The food, ambiance and live music were next level good! Later, when most of us were eating dessert at the table, Monet noticed that my daughter was sitting there with nothing watching her friends devour the chocolate cake - acted quickly and brought her a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Now THAT, my friends, is the difference between an ordinary server and an elite server. Her tip just kept getting larger and larger as she made our night wonderful from start to finish. Thank you Monet, team and Maglebys.

1st time to dine here & last! Both my husband & I fell ill after eating the exact same meal. We treated ourselves, each ordering fillet mignon dinner $55 each. Within 6 hours we experienced 48 hours of extreme stomach pain, gas, loud growling, stomach churning, pain in stomach & diarrhea which smelled exactly like our fine dinning meal, even the last painful deposit which dropped nearly 48 hours after consuming the meal.

I called the restaurant to express concern over the meal making us sick. I left detailed concern and requested a return call- no return call after 48 hours. We filled a health inspectors claim as clearly, the restaurant management didn’t care to reach out to us. We wanted them to know our concerns so that no one else would have to experience such illness after eating what should be a fine dining meal!

Atmosphere is wonderful, interesting structure. Cleanliness was questionable! Beautiful marble floor was littered with black pepper balls & bits of scraps left from past diners!

My leather bottomed dress leather boots slid on the pepper balls on the way to our table! I didn’t fall, but was forced to react to the situation in a hurry! The marble floor is mostly white with black pattern so the tiny ball obstacles were not obvious until stepping on them & after being seated, we had plenty of time to observe that they were spread out well beyond our table. It was comical, yet but. Tiny round objects tend to fly across hard surfaces and boy did we see evidence of this. Sadly, due to balls on floor, we were forced to also see flakes of cheese, rice, bread, and other questionable food deposited from past diners..

Someone eventually came with a broom to sweep up balls. We engaged in conversation with them, at which point they confessed they had spilled the pepper balls. The attempt to clean up was poor at best! Left behind many all around our table and the two tables nearby. The ‘clean up’ was disgusting to watch, as they used a nasty blackened tipped broom and the individual making the attempt to clean, was in casual street cloths, unlike all other employees. That person went to the nearest corner after barely capturing a few balls, the area where food was being brought out by wait staff. He socialized with a few of them & then proceeded to use his cell for great lengths of time, all in clear view of diners and somewhat interfering with wait staff pathway. At one pint while in his cell, this person picked his nose!! This was gross & extremely disappointing to observe as we were well aware that the cleanliness of the dining room was not up to hygienic standard.

A bus boy soon thereafter, came by after sweep was attempted. Saw the balls on floor, muttered something about it, rolled his eyes and proceeded to wipe table & chairs (BTW: same cloth used to wipe table & seat surface!!!) Do we know the kind of germs folks carry on their rear ends, clothed or not?). We attempted to speak to this person about the pepper balls, they didn’t even look up at us (3’ away). We believed they must have been using ear buds as they were singing while moving about (hair covered ears).

The steaks were requested medium & medium rare, they were delivered with wooden sticks stating the preference for cooking, yet, we compared color and both were identical.

The sauce smothered the fillet, it completely removed any steak flavor. There was instead, and overwhelming flavor of herds, rosemary perhaps? It was not paired well for steak, for those who enjoy grilled meat flavor. We had assumed the sauce would be in the side, that was our mistaken assumption. Serves with asparagus, which were delicious & perfectly prepared. Baby potatoes were cold and could best be tolerated by dipping into sauce that was poured over steak.

Frankie was our wait person and she was terrific.

Otherwise, the fine dining was anything but fine!!! $140 was a lot to pay for a dreadful experience which kept in revisiting us each time we ran to the toilet! It was a painful experience we will...

After moving to back Springville I really wanted to love this place. I was actually impressed when I first walked in as the atmosphere was better than expected. There was a musician playing guitar and singing… A welcome touch that was appreciated. We waited for 10 minutes even though we had a reservation but I didn’t really mind. It gave me an opportunity to look around and actually feel the restaurant before we sat down. The bustle made me hopeful of a great experience.

My server was fantastic. Conversational, knowledgeable with good timing and naturally at ease.

The manager delivered the wine to the table and was professional and welcoming.

Unfortunately, the food was less than impressive. The “bread” was like doughy undercooked biscuits but not quite dough…. Too wet and heavy to be cooked thoroughly and they had zero flavor. There was no butter to even make a solid attempt at making them palatable at all.

We ordered the Charcuterie board for the Appetizer. We were content with the presentation and the baked brie was great. Unfortunately the grapes were not very fresh and the walnuts were more like crumbs.. Whole almonds or cashews would have been better. Prosciutto, Salame…. Gherkins…. a few berries, crostini and fig spread …. It was OK though plenty room for improvement remains.

Our entrees came at an appropriate time. Not too soon and we didn’t feel like we were waiting. It was a relaxing pace which I appreciated.

My son ordered the All American Burger, my friend had a seafood pasta dish and I ordered the filet mignon.

My son is usually a big eater. He didn’t complain but he didn’t finish his burger or even have more than a few fries. I was told the seafood linguine dish was decent though he couldn’t finish all of it. Sadly, my filet was disappointing to say the least. It was not medium rare as ordered at all. It was firm and dry …. No pink in the center and an odd texture. It was almost as if it had been cooked and then microwaved…. I’ve had filet at many many restaurants and I have never had a filet with the texture of a dry pork chop until now.

The excellent server checked on our satisfaction after a couple of bites and I was appreciative. I explained my filet was overcooked and he promptly and happily returned it to the kitchen so it could be replaced.

Soon after , my meal was delivered . Though the filet was cooked closer to medium rare it was again overcooked. Still a great improvement and it was easy to cut and chew. Unfortunately even after the steak was replaced it still tasted odd. Whatever sauce/gravy or whatever was spooned on top of it was strange and even difficult to describe. It tasted like canned and watered down salt free cream of mushroom soup mixed with something…. My tongue was left confused. The potatoes were prepared well and the asparagus had great flavor even though a bit overcooked.

The server was great, the host was great… the busser was great and I enjoyed the atmosphere.

At the end of my meal my server said he took the filet off the bill which a very nice gesture that I appreciated.

Will I be back? Yes. I would return again but I would be very particular with what I order. Maybe next time just a glass of wine and charcuterie board as a light meal for 2.

I think this restaurant could be great but the cook needs some...

I have been going to maglebys for years and years, I hadn’t been back in a long time because I moved states. I moved back to Utah and decided to go back to maglebys. Let me tell you, it is not the same. It was probably one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a restaurant. The host was very pleasant and kind I don’t remember her name sadly but she got me seated immediately. They sat me and my wife downstairs and I was facing the kitchen which felt very odd because that made it quite uncomfortable. But it was a busy night so I didn’t bother to ask to be moved. I waited about 10-15 minutes for our server to even come to us and when he did he only filled up our waters and left the pitcher on our table and took another 5-10 minutes to even take our drink orders. We ordered our food at the same time and he didn’t even write them down. We ate our salads and waited 30 minutes for our food. While we were sitting and waiting I was looking in the kitchen and noticed one of the chefs cough and sneeze facing the food. I also noticed them handling food without any gloves or hairnets on. I was very grossed out and disgusted. Then just before our food came out I went to the bathroom in the back and when I came out I saw the manager and some servers and other workers huddled up talking and I overheard them talking about another one of their employees, they were saying the meanest things like they called this employee lazy, stupid, ugly and all sorts of other mean and cruel things. I know people talk about their coworkers and not always is it nice but to have the manager chime in and do it in a spot where customers can hear is just unacceptable. When we finally got our food it was undercooked and cold. And frankly really disgusting. And after seeing one of the chefs sneeze and cough on the food and handle it without gloves I just didn’t eat much of it. I didn’t talk to the server about any of this because one, they were never at our table, our drinks were never full and I had to drink from my wife’s water bottle at times. And I shouldn’t have to complain they should recognize wrong doings and give good service.

For a little clarification, I am an anonymous food “critic”. I’ve been doing this for 3 years with different accounts so people and companies don’t see what else i criticize. I anonymously put a review and come back to the restaurant as a normal person to see if this has changed. The reason I do it anonymously is because when I make a reservation they don’t recognize me as the person who gave a bad review and purposely try and give me the best experience. Because everyone deserves a good experience. I also will not say when I was in or the server who took care of me because I don’t want people to try and figure out who it is and fix things for me specifically. Fix them for everyone else in the restaurant. So Maglebys I will be back, I won’t tell you when I will be back, but if I am pleased with my visit I will take this review down. But if I am not pleased with my visit you will be hearing from the...
