This was our first visit under what I understand to be newer ownership. This restaurant, in spite of any prior ownership issues of the past, is kind of a Springville legend. I was ashamed for never trying it out.
Approaching the entrance, we found that the main doors we not working for whatever reason. They were not working long enough that there are signs directing you to the correct door to use. Not a good sign, pun intended.
We stood just inside the door trying to figure out what do to. There is no obvious direction for the new customer. So we edged up to the bar and started looking at the menu. After a short while, my daughter noticed a button by the register. We moved down and pressed the button, which coincidentally was labeled something akin to "press for service". Finally someone came to help.
Our order taken, we filled our cups and went to sit down. There were two other tables occupied at the time. One had two adults and a child. The other was probably a 12 top. It was big and busy and took up the bulk of the open floor. The rest of the dining room looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all. Food on the floor under the booths, and all tables but one was dirty. Our seating choice was made.
We waited an appropriate amount of time for our dinner to arrive. When it did, we were a bit disappointed. The breadsticks were not as good as most frozen varieties, and they were absent of any remarkable flavor. They appeared to be a whitish-yellow color, as if they had not been thoroughly baked. The alfredo-spinach dip was regrettable.
Thankfully, the pizzas came. It took one bite to tell that the pizza crust was not cooked all the way. It was doughy in the middle, probably due to just too much toppings. Like, they were piled on with nothing securing them to the pizza itself. And they didn't look like they were cooked at all. A real pizza oven hits temperatures beyond 700 degrees. Veggies COOK in those temps. Of course, so does the dough...and so here we are.
Honestly, I was hopeful. We love to support local businesses and we try to avoid chain restaurants. Sadly, from every angle, this visit was just not good and there nothing redeeming about it. Maybe it was a bad day. Maybe they had a Monday night dinner rush before 5:30ish. Maybe a couple people called out sick. A whole bunch of "maybes" but clearly nobody did anything about it. That tells me the state of affairs was acceptable to the person in charge, but we never saw anybody who gave us a sense of leadership. Probably I will...
Read moreOrdered a pizza last night and cheese bread. Was told it would take 30 minutes... 30 minutes later I get a phone call from the driver asked for directions since our house is in a new development. I give the drive directions and a school that is right by our house. I tell the driver to look that up and just go to the school and he will see the new houses. 15 minutes later the driver calls again and says he is by Walmart which is in the wrong direction after giving him a location to look up. I try to send the driver my location on my Iphone and he tells me he said he doesn't have an iphone so he cant look at it at this point it has been an hour. Finally I call Pier 49 back and complain because it has been over an hour and I said I am not going to pay for a cold pizza that has been driving around for 30 minutes. The worker tells me that it heats up good .......really .... heats up good.......great customer service haha finally talk with a manager and she tells us she will not charge us which was nice and I dont mind paying but once we got our pizza sure enough pizza was cold and cheese bread was soggy yum .... once again Del Taco comes in clutch for a late night meal. Read moreWow. Honestly no other words than that. This place has the best pizza in utah, but they definitely do not have the best attitude. We ordered online for one pizza, told them the address and waited for pickup We waited an hour, until finally calling them, only for them to say all the sudden that they’re not doing delivery today, and told us to come get it. It’s whatever, so we go inside and there is a worker playing on his phone. we walk up to him and tell him that we have a pickup, and he simply looks at us, then walks away into the back. not a single word said. he just looked, and walked away. alright whatever, so i ring the bell to get service at the front desk, and wait. nothing. i waited for another minute ish and still no one. i then held the button down and heard it ringing in the back. all the sudden 2 workers come from the back and one of them yells “hey stop pressing that button!” … okay. i said nothing and as he approached us he said “so what can i get for you” we explained that we had a pickup and he handed us the pizza and we immediately left. i cannot believe my experience here tonight, but i won’t necessarily be looking forward to...
