E&S Fish Company — Restaurant in St. Charles

I stopped by because they have already established a solid review base that I felt was positive enough. I love seafood, so was excited to give it a try. The small menu is full of tempting options. I always have a hard time choosing, but settled on the Grouper sandwich on toasted Sourdough with spicy mayo! Mmm, the 1st half was better than I expected, cooked to perfection and so fresh, although when I got to the second 1/2 the bloodline/muscle remained when the fish was prepared and landed on my plate. Although some may find it unoffensive, I can't bear it, so I asked the staff (husband and wife "E&S") to address my problem. Thankfully, they were sympathetic to my dislike of the strong taste of that portion of the fish and accommodated me with a different selection. I decided on the Sea Scallops with Chipotle cream sauced Fettuccine. Flavor was spot on, not too spicy and scallops were cooked perfectly. I will visit again when I return to the area. After looking at their times drove to their location and sat down at 1:50pm looking forward to some good food. Several wait staff standing in back and no one came forward to help seat us. So we asked to seat ourselves. A girl came over after several minutes put the menus down and walked away. With no greeting and just walked away. One minute later a waitress walked up to us and said what did you want? Stated it was our first time and she just walked away. Literally 2 minutes went by and she came back. I asked what specials were and tried to figure out the menu. She stated “ Do you know what you want because we are closing at 2pm” it was 2:04. At that point she didn’t want to wait on us, that was clear. We got up and left as another couple was coming in. Note the times on Google and FB both say till 8pm. Decided to give this place a try. I actually found it by accident after asking my brother what I should have for lunch. He found E&S Fish Company on the Google and told me to go eat there for lunch and I'm glad I did! I normally don't go for places like this as it's not really my cup of tea but I'm glad I gave them a shot! Man I've had the grouper sandwich and the halibut sandwich and both were OUTSTANDING. The potatoe salad is really good also and I don't even like potatoes salads! On Friday's they server a red seafood soup and it was 10 out of 10. I haven't had a bad thing from this place and I will continue to come to E&S for years to come. In addition, I have told all my family and friends about E&S and they are now enjoying this restaurant. I can't wait for my brother to come into town so I can take him to this find establishment that he recommend...
