Samuel Cupples House is a blast from the past…LITERALLY! This house has been standing since 1890. It is located on Saint Louis University Campus. There is meter parking on Lindell by St. Francis Church. The restored house is beautiful. They have a folder of it history that you can grab because it’s a self-guided tour. You can walk around yourself and take your time looking at everything. Pictures are allowed WITHOUT flash. It’s open Tuesday- Saturday, 11am to 4pm. I went there on a friday around 11am and it was empty. It was a little creepy being there by myself. It was nice to see how wealthy people lived in the past. Read moreThis is a lovely place on the SLU campus! The house is beautiful and restored very well. They provide a very informative self-guide binder that I found easy to follow. The student who was working there (Hi Selam!) very helpfully and cheerfully found the answer to an obscure question I had. It was a great way to spend a couple of hours. And it's air conditioned which is important in July 2022!
A few notes: As of 7/8/2022, there is construction going on and you can not get in through the front. If you walk around to the back, there is an entrance there. While there is a wheelchair lift that will get you into the house, there is no access to the second or third floors other...

I forgot how many room were in the house 20+, every fireplace was different and there was a fireplace in each room. The staff there did not seem to know much about the house.
