MOCRA is a one-of-a-kind art museum found on SLU's campus. My sister and I visited on a Friday morning into early afternoon to view their Vicente Telles and Brandon Maldonado: Cuentos Nuevomexicanos and the permanent exhibitions. The pieces were very moving, the hall well-lit and partitioned, and the curator kind and informative.
I'm eager to return for the next exhibit, whatever it will be. I believe they bring in new pieces each semester.

I do wish the exhibits were lit somewhat better themselves, however. A small space, though the balcony exhibits were closed, I went through in less than an hour. I found myself deeply moved by the visiting photography display by Tom Kiefer. Well worth checking out. Read moreThere are few places like this in the world. You can tell that the curator has great depth, and is always able to put together something extraordinary, profound, and tremendously enjoyable. I've seen people there last on the floor smiling for an exhibit of silver clouds.
