"The Sheldon Concert Hall is a fabulous venue -- especially if you want your guests to absolutely rave about attending your event. The ballroom was spectacular as well as the acoustics were great for the pianist, harpist and other artist/performers. From the point of the first contact with the Sheldon (Jennifer and Rachel) to all the many emails and telephone calls to the "day of" to organize and coordinate the event (and yes, I did this all remotely as I live in California), to the rehearsal to sound check (with Tim who's highly skilled and extremely knowledgeable tech engineer)-- the Sheldon delivered a flawless event. The team is professional and very responsive to meeting the needs and expectations of their customers I appreciated the attention to detail and their engagement, involvement, and frankly speaking sincere and genuine interest in ensuring the success of the event. Together, along with the professional bartenders, to the artists/performers to the Floral Jazz - florist (who by the way did an amazing job with the centerpieces) to the Hendri's- caterer, etc -- the food was amazing and the staff was absolutely the best. The staff attended to every detail and no task was too little or too big for them to handle. Simply put, we created memories that will last a lifetime. The guests thoroughly enjoyed attending the event, The venue was great and the artists were incredible. Even the artists who are seasoned and perform all over including Broadway mentioned it was a fabulous venue and one of the best places and that they enjoyed performing here as well. They said they'd be back for the 61st Anniversary Soiree. LOL! Sheldon is an awesome venue with incredible, responsive and talented staff who really puts the customer first and delivered the "disney-like" customer service experience. I can highly recommend this venue -- and all and all -- everyone made it look so easy (but I know there was a lot of coordination and planning behind...

My wife and I saw Christopher Titus here in Sept of 2015. Very nice place, great staff, waiting area before the show with a small bar.

The Auditorium: If you haven't been here, it is a very small auditorium. Seating is limited to about 100-150 (approx I think). The seats are like baseball stadium seats (design) but they're wood, and on the smaller side. I'm 6'3" (215 lbs) and I fit between the arms pretty comfortably but was tight on leg room. Being a small auditorium though, it's very "intimate" with whoever you're there to see. (Feels like you're sitting on "stage" with them.) Titus is a stand up comedian, so of course there was a joke about the "look" of the stage. Looks like a judge's chambers or plain courtroom.

Parking: There's an attached parking lot, however they were charging to park the night we went ($10 a car). There is parking right on the street on both sides, just pay attention to posted signs. Parking lot across the street is big, but on our night was chained closed. Get there early, free street parking otherwise you're probably paying for the attached lot. If you're willing to walk though, there's parking on all the surrounding blocks as well.

Pricing: Our ticket prices weren't bad. I'm sure the price is determined by who's there, but we paid $17ea for 7th row center....

My husband and I decided on the Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries for our wedding because the event space was one of the few reasonably priced venues that could hold a large wedding such as ours. From the beginning we worked with the two event coordinators Rachel D. and Meghan B. They were punctual, responded quickly to emails, and provided consistent answers to our questions. Unfortunately, I am unable to give our experience with the Sheldon a high rating because of how we were treated a month out from our wedding date and the days leading up. We met with Rachel and Meghan a month prior to the wedding to go over final plans and logistics. Meghan was quite helpful, but Rachel (Meghan’s superior) was ornery with us and extremely defensive. We asked simple questions only to be met with snarky and disrespectful behavior from Rachel. Thankfully, Meghan was our coordinator on site the day of the wedding, but she also forgot key instructions we previously explained to them regarding the relationship of our in-laws. This caused a very uncomfortable and awkward rehearsal. We were charged extra for a table that we never had guests sitting at, and had to bring this to the Sheldon’s attention. They dropped the...

The Sheldon is a world class, St Louis gem. This historical building boasts the best acoustics of any performance hall. In fact, Heather Headley once sand an entire song without a mic and no one had issues hearing her. The Sheldon's mission is "art without borders," they undoubtedly achieve that through the diverse performances and artists who come through. In addition to live musical and dance shows, they have an art gallery that is free to visit! Events like Golf the Gallery are a must see experience, along with any patron level tickets. The Sheldon is amazing. I hope that every one who comes through our city is able to visit. If you're local and you haven't seen a show, it's worth it. Tickets are always inexpensive and there is literally no bad seat in the house.

The St. Louis University Literary Awards Ceremony honoring Neil Gaiman. It was a very enjoyable evenning. Neil is so charming, funny, intelligent and talented and so deserving of this award. The Sheldon was the perfect intimate space to hold the proceedings. Jon Hamm originally was supposed to interview Neil, but due to a tight schedule had to bow out. He sent a charming video which was shown and do did Nick Offerman to round out a wonderful insightfull evening. Lovely to be in the presence of those that value books, libraries and literacy and fight to keep them available to all.

The Sheldon blends old world sophistication and modern casual in a warm, intimate setting. With the thoughtful design of the low stage, main seating area and balcony, there is not a bad seat in the house. Get there early to enjoy their excellent gallery, and to find a parking spot in their adjoining parking lot. We had the good fortune to see the incomparable Jesse Cook and his amazing 5-man ensemble perform at the Sheldon. WOW! What a delightful evening. Jesse and the guys had us all bouncing on our feet for the last 30 minutes of the show. Everyone there had an awesome time! 😎
