UPDATE: I’m updating my review for this business because of how wonderfully the situation was resolved by Adam, the owner of the store. He reached out to us and was extremely helpful in making me and my mother feel better, and we definitely plan on revisiting clothes mentor. It’s clear that the morals and values that Adam sets for his employees are fair for all customers, and that this was an isolated incident that will not happen again. We truly appreciate Adam and think this is the best way any business has ever handled this type of situation.
Would also give 0 stars if I could. I saw an abundance of bad reviews for this location before going but still for some reason decided to stop by. Everything seemed fine while me and my mother were shopping, but when we left the security alarm had gone off. Instead of a store associate simply asking us to come back so they could check what was going on. She immediately jumped to "Did you all steal something out of here" to which me and my mother replied no and she looked in my purse to make sure I didn’t have anything. I even offered to come back inside when it went off to clear everything up. She said she didn’t want us back in there and waved us off. My mother and I went back inside to speak with her about the way the situation was handled because it came off extremely rude, and was embarrassing to do in front of a store of people. She told us she was the manager, but instead of having a discussion with us, she acted extremely passive aggressive and didn’t make any eye contact with us. We left and called to speak to another manager. To which we discovered that she actually was NOT the manager on duty. My mother is extremely sick and just wanted to get a nice dress after finishing chemotherapy, and instead we got a horrible experience and a bad outlook on clothes mentor. Read moreI am a self-proclaimed thrift and consignment shopping expert, with 30 plus years of experience I feel I am warranted to do so. So when I heard about Clothes Mentor about one year ago I was so excited! They paid cash on the spot for your clothes. I have attempted to sell three times and each time leave frustrated that they bought a fraction of what I brought in (3 items out of 40 items). Today I had 4 NEW Ann Taylor dresses, a Kate Spade purse and wallet in mint condition, lands end summer dress never worn, and more items than I care to mention that were known labels, in GREAT condition. I decided today after once again having the same experience of being scolded by the Devil Wears Prada!!! NEVER NEVER AGAIN. I will never shop there I will never sell there again. here is the other thing that bites, when I take my items in to sell they are clean, ironed or dry cleaned and folded NEATLY!!! Each time the snotty clerks hand them back to me wadded up in the bag. NEVER AGAIN! Fair warning, I teach a class on the how to shop consignment and thrift successfully and part of the class is we shop together and local stores here in Louisville - last class there were 25 participants that I brought to local shops. Read moreThis is one of the most terrible attitude oriented places that i have been to. I have been here 6 different times and only got good service once. Everytime i go in there no one even bothers to look at me and give me service. On sundays they dont even bother at looking at youre clothing when you know that they would take something when only wore once. They are supposed to text when they are done with youre clothing and everytime i didn't get a text until after i go there and pick it back up. This last time she told me 3 hours and i waited 4 and went 10 minutes before they closed, she said it was a glitch in the system but everytime i dont think so. Thid loctation needs to hire new people because the people who work here are putting a cery bad vide to this company and im not the only person who i have heard about this.
