My lifelong girlfriends and I get together throughout the year to enjoy special activities, fabulous vacations, and simple meals. We are blessed to have known each other for 50+ years. Recently we decided to meet in St Michaels, MD for an overnighter to walk around this beautiful little town, to take advantage of the nice variety of great restaurants, and to spend an afternoon on the water. We selected the Selena II to take us out for a 2 hour sail and it was the highlight of our trip. Captain Iris is a well-skilled sailor who maintains an immaculate vessel 98 years old. It’s a thing of beauty and sails effortlessly through the water. Our weather was perfect to permit full sail, and we all got an education in how the process works, as Iris was instructing a new captain (who can help out occasionally when she’s away) on board throughout the process. We enjoyed a glass of wine/champagne as Iris pointed out landmarks along the water; even finding us a pod of small dolphin that escorted us as we returned to the dock. It was a lovely afternoon and we were so glad we selected Iris as our captain. We highly recommend...

This was a very pleasant experience despite the weather. Captain Iris, provided an outstanding experience despite weather complications. This was supposed to be a sunset cruise, however a storm coming up the coast for the evening that we sailed. Captain Iris and her first mate advised us that the cruise was going to be shortened to 1 hour due to the weather. We all decided to embark on the shortened cruise and were pleasantly surprised by our wonderful experience. Captain Iris certainly lived up to her description on the website. She was an excellent storyteller and even made sure that I could hear as I am hearing impaired. She is a conscientious sailor carefully watched the weather report, ready to change course if the weather changed. She was an excellent hostess offering us Champaign or our beverage preference. We enjoyed the cruise despite the extenuating circumstances that shortened it and they even refunded us half of the cost. I'm sure her grandfather is very proud of his granddaughter and the way she kept his dream alive. I highly recommend this cruise. It definitely was the highlight...

As peaceful and idyllic as you can imagine, and as safe as can be!! That was our experience sailing on Salena II with four new friends and the expert crew. If you have any fears of seasickness or danger, lay them aside. You will step back 90+ years into the golden age of sailing on the Chesapeake. The boat itself is a thing of beauty, with its gleaming, polished woodwork and cotton sail. The captain and mate piloted the craft with apparent ease. They talked just enough to be informative and answer our many questions without ever leaving us feeling as though it was all rehearsed. This 2-hour excursion was the absolute highlight of our stay on the Eastern Shore. I cannot recommend it highly enough!!

UPDATE: Sailed again this week and the experience was as wonderful as our first time. Captain Iris had a wonderful emphasis on safety as she expertly sailed us on the Chesapeake for two amazing hours. Thank...

Every summer, we like to take a water excursion and this year we found ourselves in St Micheal’s MD on the Selina II with Captain Iris. We booked the 530 pm 2-hour Chesapeake Bay tour and thought we would be 2 of up to 6 passengers. Instead we were the only ticket holders and had the pleasure of a private charter on the immaculate sail boat. My husband and I can sincerely say - we had a blast! We were welcomed and quickly put at ease and after our first adult beverage, finally started relaxing and were able to shed some the stress of the long day. the Captain was so knowledgeable and personable and too soon, we found ourselves back at the Harbor Inn. i cant say enough good things about Captain Iris and the Selina II - if you have the chance, do yourself a favor and spend a couple of hours onboard. I’m sure you will enjoy it!
