This was my 3rd and last visit at The Crab Claw Restaurant. The first time we came to this restaurant we sat outside on the deck and the service and foods were excellent! It was fabulous so we thought we would come here to have lunch every year on our way back home.šŸ˜šŸ˜ The 2nd year we were so excited to go back that we invited another couple to join us for lunch. It was a very hot day so we decided to dine in. We were not greeted with a smile, the atmosphere did not feel warm, welcoming and you could definitely tell the waitress really did not want to wait on us but she did and never with a smile! I’m a crab fanatic, go all over just to try Blue Claw Crabs during crab season! I ordered 3 crabs and was so disappointed because out of the 3 crabs 2 of the crabs were hollow and crushed in my hand exactly like what happened in my video on my 3rd visit. Maryland is the home of the Blue Claw Crab so when I travel hundreds of miles for them they should be absolutely amazing and worth every penny! The food isn’t all that good either. If the service was better the foods would probably taste better because it goes together! Great service and great foods! None of us enjoyed our foods and/or dining experience. Also, let me not forgot to mention that when I brought the hollow crabs to my waitress’ attention she looked at me and said well we don’t take crabs back 😳😳 even if you can’t eat them. This definitely was not the right way to fix the problem. I spoke with the manager who gladly offered to bring me two new crabs and/or just take it off my order.šŸ¤—šŸ¤— This was definitely the right thing to do! Thank you! Lastly, on my 3rd and last visit, I didn’t really want to go here but we wanted to give them another try since it was a new year.😳 We got the same service, same waitress as the second year 😳 and it was definitely obvious that she did not want to wait on our table. She had an attitude, never smiled, never said her name, when it was time to take our orders she just looked at each of us like well are you going to order.😱 I finally couldn’t take it anymore and told her that I’m poster and blogger of my foods, places that I dine and other stuff as well and I was definitely going to post my foods. I thought this would have helped change her attitude and she would surely let the kitchen know. Most establishments will try to make sure that they give you a great meal with a great presentation and great service. None of this happened šŸ˜”šŸ˜”so I have nothing good to show you in my video and/or photo. I only ordered 2 crabs this time because of my past experience on my 2nd visit but I could not eat the 2 crabs, once again, because they were not good. I ended up leaving and not wanting any foods from here. No one wanted to eat without me so my husband spoke to the owner this time. The owner apologized offered to take care of everything but, at this point, we still would not have enjoyed ourselves, the food or the service!šŸ˜”šŸ˜” The owner even told my husband to call him directly the next time that we to town and he would make sure that we are very well taken care of from them. Kudos to the owner and manager for always wanting to make things right and make the customer feel like they are always right!šŸ¤—šŸ¤— I rated The Crab Claw a 3 because of the owner and manager’s excellent customer service and my husband does like their food!šŸ˜šŸ˜ The food was excellent the first year so I’m not sure what happened or who happened??šŸ¤”šŸ¤”Also, I recommend to dine outside for a much more enjoyable and friendlier experience. I will go back to St.Michael’s to enjoy a great every year but just not here. The quality of the Blue Claw Crab and Great Service are the most important 2 things to me when I dine in Maryland!!

The Crab šŸ¦€ Claw was recommended to us, and there may be some items on the menu that are worth the prices, but what we had was not. Overall, we were disappointed in the quality of food and cheap plates & plastic utensils we were to use. First off, the bay was FULL of trash from the restaurant. Empty cracker packs, utensil bags, napkins etc blow right off of the outside tables and into the water. That is very unsettling to me and I am NOT ok with it. Secondly, for the prices they charge, they should offer real plates & utensils. We dinned there during late June 2020 with many Covid restrictions & precautions still in place, so I understand that may be temporary, but they still charged us $3.00 to split a $33.00 entree. I could see that if they really had to DO anything to split the meal like we were told, but all they did was bring an extra flimsy styrofoam plate and we had to divide it ourselves. Ridiculous! I’m sure that their crab steamers are the best value for their seafood, but the seafood dinners are very poorly prepared and lacked in taste. The crab cakes & broiled scallops were amazing!! If we had eaten only that with a salad, we would have been happier with quality, quantity & price. I understand that seafood is always costly, but I feel that this establishment was over the top, considering the circumstances. The atmosphere was nice as well as the staff. However, overall, it was not a great dining experience. Choose wisely should you dine here ...

Has the charm of a crab house restaurant that overlooks the docks and water. Very busy. Service staff is polite, knowledgeable and attentive. Table is bussed regularly as you finish your courses. I really like the small sterno butter warmers that prevents congealed, cold butter. Over all The Crab Claw gets the crabs to the table in reasonable time. Your food doesn't sit under a heat strip drying up. Well organized. Fresh crabs. Crabs were large, heavy, piping hot, good flavor and about market price: $126 a dozen for large. I wouldn't recommend mediums unless you like spiders. (The larges are about equivalent to the old medium size of about 20 years ago). I also ordered the four count 2lb snow crab clusters for $60ish. These are not the specialty here. Very disappointed. Body meat was slightly malodorous, very dry, salty and did not hold it's texture. To me it was clearly a frozen product. The leg meat on average was okay. It pulled from the shell somewhat easy. A few legs were stringy, dry and had slight odor. I strongly advise against the clusters. No my money was not refunded but the steamer will be made aware. I am sure, had I made a "stink" about the clusters the manager would have done more. Overall, stay with the crabs, their specialty.

The first thing I wanted to say is PLEASE DON'T GO HERE EVER!!!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!! The outside is where we sat and let me tell you we should had left 15 minutes after we ordered our food. The server had a bad attitude and keep rushing us so he could attend to a huge party. Of course he was because he knew he was going to get a large amount of a tip from them. HOW RUDE AND RIDICULOUS!!! My friends ordered the oyster casino for a appetizer and they were so flat. The cocktail sauce was just dumped on the plate and not in any kind of small dish. There was barley any cheese or bacon on them. VERY DISPOINTING!! The oyster casino was supposed to be hot and they were cold. Not okay! We sat there for over 1 hour and 30 minutes waiting patiently for our food that never came. He didn't want to answer any questions for us. I had a food allergy and it didn't seem to matter at all. That's so disturbing. They took over 30 minutes just to bring out a side of hush puppies,a basket of hush puppies, and the oyster casino. We had to yell to catch the servers attention just to get refills. $4.00 dollars for soda is also ridiculous and over priced. They no longer carry there bread basket while you wait or their signature dessert which was fresh strawberry pie or their New York Cheesecake. They have been there for 60 years and this place you to be the place to go for steamed crabs šŸ¦€ and crabcakes NOT ANYMORE!! This place was so good many years ago and it's so sad that they went down the hill. Also one of the guy waiters was near the outside soda drink station vaping. NOT OKAY!! SOME PEOPLE LIKE MYSELF HAS ASTHMA AND CAN'T BREATHE CORRECTLY WHEN PEOPLE ARE DOING THAT. HE WAS DOING THIS IN FRONT OF THE CUSTOMERS. When we sat down it took forever just for the server to take our order then we noticed that people sitting to our left and right were getting their food before us. NOT OKAY!! WE WERE THERE FIRST!! IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A SEAFOOD RESTAURANT TO GO TO CHECK OUT....CHEASPEAKE LANDING IN MCDANIEL,Maryland less then 10 miles from Crab Claw restaurant. YOU'LL LOVE CHEASPEAKE LANDING RESTAURANT!! GO...

Last trip there for good after 40 years of good service and great food...they've let us down and overcharged us for the last time. Waiter was either deaf or just plain stupid. Couldn't comprehend I wanted a coke...ordered it TWICE..then he tells ME to turn over the menu for the drink selections..really? Cream of Crab soup was one of the worst I've even had anywhere...came straight from a can with a few tiny pieces of canned crabmeat tossed in. Steamed clams were like old rubberbands filled with sand...waiter was visibly angry when I told him..he said he'd check with his manager over it..never did. When our entrees arrived..finally..he had my husbands order wrong..again. We had corrected it because he again seemed confused over a simple...STUFFED FLOUNDER which was right on the abbreviated menu. He kept the entrƩe just to be able to eat though thoroughly disappointed. It was dry, bland and overcooked. My soft crab sandwich was terrible...I have no idea what they sautƩed the crab in but it had a very 'off' taste, no flavor, no 'dusted in flour' as they are traditionally cooked. It even left an 'aftertaste'. The cole slaw was water soak vinegar tossed mush. The waiter, though very few customers at 2p.m. on a SUNDAY was argumentive even over fetching us appetizer plates for our steamed clams. Several times a year we make a day of going to St. Michaels to eat..usually at the crab claw. Each time we've gone there recently, it's been more and more empty and we completely understand the reason...complete incompetence in the kitchen and management. We won't ever go back and foresee the waterfront restaurant sinking into the sunset. Hopefully the next owners understand quality and customer service. We found ourselves longing for the umbrella covered outdoor tables on the other side of the creek...it'll be where we'll...
