Harry M. Dotson Park — Attraction in Stanton

Pros: very clean and safe, perfect for family and kids, it's very small (tiny) , no lake, no duck, no homeless or trash, the pirate ship is cool and small playground is cute and clean in general. Cons: terrible parking like 5 spots in front of the gate, if you're lucky you can find a spot on street, very hard to see this park if you come for the first time, closes at 6:30 pm so you wont have much time to enjoy if you take kids here after work. I left 5 stars because our community tried to build a cute and tiny park for this neighborhood and keep it so clean and safe so I don't ask too much for this. Parking is difficult. Once we arrived I witnessed a child step in poop and then proceed to wash it in the splash pad. I stopped him and told him to get his mother and rinse it with soap and water in the bathroom. However this did not happen as his mother was not present. My concern now is the water is contaminated with poop (I don't know if it was a dogs poop or child's but it was fresh) we proceed to the play ground where children ran around unsupervised using horrible language. Great Park. Stanton the small city known for great parks did a great job with this park. Geared toward families with younger families, the park has a great pirate ship that kids just gravitate toward. The park is clean and still seems brand new. Parking can be an issue especially on street sweeping day. (Note I might be a bit bias as former mayor Harry Dotson was my friend.) You might also want to check out their newest park Central Park down the street at Western and Cerritos. Same quality as Dotson Park but...
