Tennerra Winery — Attraction in Sterling Heights

My wife and I stumbled upon this winery during our most recent date night, to say the road less traveled is the most rewarding is an understatement when it comes to Tennerra Winery! We were searching for a place to get a couple drinks after dinner and very fortunately came across Joe and Nancy's labor of love oddly far down the list of nearby places. We were warmly greeted by the owners, explained it was our first time there and started with a couple of wine flights. They have a great selection of dry and sweet wines, very knowledgeable on all of their offerings and couldn't be happier to guide you based on your tastes. Our original plan of just a couple drinks turned into more than few, along with an evening filled with laughs and delicious appetizers. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tennerra to anyone, we'll certainly be back to enjoy more tasteful pairings and can't wait to try the monthly dinners! Thank you SO much...

Don't let the location fool you because this place is truly a hidden gem. Take a look at their menu, the wine selection is extensive from red to white to dessert wines. Typically I'm a white wine drinker but their reds are outstanding. I now regularly buy their Primitivo and Barbara along with a few others. Joe and Nancy (the owners) are extremely personable and knowledgeable. I've learned a great deal about wine from our casual conservations while trying their wines. A must do. The Cranapple wine was mild. The Raspberry and Blackberry wines were great. The White Chocolate and the TreBianchi were amazing and my favorites. The aroma of the White Chocolate was breath taking. The Sweet Merlot was excellent. Pizza was outstanding. What I enjoyed the most were the hosts, Nancy and Joe. They welcome you with huge hugs and great conversation. The winery is small but the other patrons are inviting, sharing stories and good news.
