Screamers Ice Cream — Restaurant in Sterling Heights

IV PASSED & ADMIRED THE CLASSIC YELLOW TRUCK WITH THE ICE CREAM CONE ON TOP! MY 1ST TIME, WILL RETURN! VERY VERY GOOD & ITS BEEN A DECADE OR MORE SINCE I'VE HAD "A CHERRY & WHIP CREAM INCLUDED IN A 'HOT' FUDGE SUNDAE & THE ICE CREAM MIX SNICKER SIMILAR TO YOUR COMPETITOR ALSO VERY GOOD ICE CREAM!!! I thought I'd found my spot! Its on our way in. We met a lovely worker there the 2nd time However the Last 2 Trips & purchases left me feeling lackluster, so much so I probably will not return. Once uv enjoyed a product or atmosphere u look forward to enjoy it again! I find inconsistency with employee training for whatever reason is a large issue everywhere. The last 2 purchases I literally had bt a Tablespoon of Fudge in my Sundae, Not appropriate! Yet as we sat there in the car the next customer was loaded with Fudge visually! U can imagine my surprise & disappointment! I didn't say anything. I wanted to take it home to enjoy bt traffic on M59 causes your ice cream to melt to Soup from Mound to VanDyke! The lovely man the 2nd time gave it on the side so I could enjoy. Hot Fudge is my favorite since a child so 'a Hot Fudge should be a Hot Fudge'. Changing my review, I used to love this place but now there are nothing but children with no supervision running it. Where are the original owners? Or the adults? We come to screamers because they used to be generous with the ice cream and it was so good that you never left unsatisfied but not anymore in the past couple years it’s changed and is just not the same. Today I ordered 2 medium cones and they were so small I honestly would hate to see what an actual small looked like and the staff are just rude and have no manners. Also can’t even take an order without messing it up, asked for a chocolate cone and never got it when I said something she asked me if I wanted the cone lol what am I supposed to do with just a cone smh and the ice cream looked and tasted different was darker and not as soft (weird) but noticeable. We’ve always loved this ice cream place. We’ve driven 35 minutes out of our way just to come here—and have done so often. That’s why tonight’s experience was so disappointing.

At 8:58, an employee came into the dining area and said, “We’re closed and need everyone to leave now.” There were just two tables—us and one other. We immediately got up, threw away the rest of our ice cream, and left.

We were still within business hours, not causing a mess, not hanging around—we were simply finishing what we had purchased. We always make a point to come well before closing, and in the rare instance we’re there close to it, we tip well because we do value their time.
