the day before my rental was due to be picked up, I received a call from Travis the representative and was told I could bring my debit card to pay for my rental.
Rental day arrives, I am picked up as requested and dropped off at the location. At the time I was asked for my drivers license and "major credit card". I informed the woman at the desk that I was informed by Travis I could bring my debit card and that everytime I come into this location the information that I am provided by phone or over the website changes. I was frustrated because I have had issues in the past when dealing with her. She informed me that because I was renting a "Premium" car that I needed my credit card (which I didn't bring due to being told I could pay with my debit card) she also at that time proceeded to tell me that on my reservation it states that I needed to bring a major credit card. When I asked what the difference is she said "THAT is a $75,000 car and when you pay for the rental by debit card YOU would be more likely to damage or not return the car". I told her that this is pretty judgmental of Enterprise Rental to think that and at that time she told me that these is a statistical statement and that Enterprise has been pulling statistics since 1950ish and she's worked here for 5 year and that's the policy. In the end she did TRY to make-up for my inconvenience by letting me pay with my debit car and waiving the partial tank of gas, however, at that moment she had already ruined any relationship that I would have with her location and I could care less that shes worked there for 5 years.
Here is my issue, she was definitely trying to me feel less than her and what she doesn't know is that we (my husband and I) own a $60,000 vehicle our own. Maybe she should've taken a step back and used some customer service skills and understood that the error started on her end when it was confirmed through a phone call that I was able to use my debit card. My husband and I rent through Enterprise all the time for work, however, I will not be utilizing this...
Read more**This was posted and as you can see below the owner wanted us to follow up w/ our complaint. We followed up and still haven’t heard anything from anyone concerning our situation described below. It looks good to pretend like your concerned but no follow through whatsoever. Not surprised the store associates aren’t concerned about customers needs considering management acts in the same unprofessional manner. So if you have a bad experience don’t expect any sort of resolution.
Rented a van 6 weeks in advance for a vacation. Someone called a week before to confirm and I was told a van would be available. The employee asked me if I wanted to switch to an SUV. I stated I already own an SUV and explained that we needed to van to accommodate extra family members that would be coming on the trip. Once again assured that a van would be available. The morning of my reservation I received a phone call stating there was an issue with the van and he said he was working on getting another van. He said he would call back in :30 minutes well 3 hours go by and no call. I call again he is still working on getting a van. We are now past my reservation time with no solution in site. He stated he would talk to a manager. I asked for the managers phone number and was told he couldn’t give it to me. No phone call from anyone and we are now 5 hours past our reservation time. We can’t leave for our vacation and we have no idea what is going on. We called the chagrin falls location and we told the manager our situation. She called us back and found us a van within :15 minutes. We drove there and picked it up just before closing. This was terrible customer service. We never received a phone call from the Streetsboro Enterprise. The Streetsboro location might not be aware but my company books me a rental car here monthly and has been for years. I will have the...
Read moreI reserved a car online for a one day trip. Pick up friday, return saturday. This store had ano overnight drop off box, so I planned to drop off the car after hours on saturday. When I arrived at the store to pick up the car, they had a sign saying they recently removed the drop off box. That resulted in me being charged for a 3 day rental instead of one. That was a very unfortunate surprise. They didn't have the size car I ordered and offered me an "upgrade" to some suv. I wanted a vehicle that was good in gas so I declined. They gave me a car called a Chevy Sonic. A small 4 door car. The car sat in my drive way the whole day of Sunday since I didn't need it, but I paid an extra $60 for it. When I returned it, I asked if the car was a compact. The enterprise website says it is, without any specification of doors or hatchback. The employee claimed if it wasn't a hatchback, then it wasn't a compact. For my troubles, he offered me a free "upgrade" to an suv the next time I rented. Obviously "upgrades" are no big deal for them. I don't appreciate the business policies of enterprise and will never rent a car from them again. I have found a local car dealer that rents for the same price, but charges for the...
