My husband and I along with my mother in law were traveling across country. We needed a place to stop. We don’t know the area. Typically I try for another hotel chain that I have points with but they didn’t have properties in the area at a reasonable price so I tried this one. Turned out great! Arrived around 8pm, Sept 13, 2023. Got a first floor room which was good for my mother in law with mobility issues. Got a double Queen for the 3 of us. Room was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Plenty of towels, shampoo/conditioner/ body soap. They had a hair dryer too and self controlled room AC/ fan. Night staff person was a bit weird and couldn’t find our reservation initially but upon giving the reservation # found it. but morning staff folks were awesome. Especially the breakfast attendant! The woman who manages the breakfast buffet on Sept 14 was awesome. I’m sorry I didn’t catch her name. But she was extremely proactive, offering help and being super pleasant and friendly. This might not seem like a big deal, but traveling with my mother in law who doesn’t speak English and is Muslim, this kind breakfast attendant lady explained the egg omelet which I was about to give to my mum, was a western omelet with ham. With ham, she repeated gently. Maybe she didn’t know the significance of that, but I suspect maybe she did (good for her!). If you don’t know, devout Muslims aren’t supposed to eat pork. I forgot! Thank goodness she said that! I took the omelet from my mum - I’m Christian so it’s ok to eat pork - and it was delicious actually! But it would have upset my mum if she accidentally ate it. These small things are what makes a difference in an experience. Anyway, there were tons of other options for mum to eat. In fact mum wanted to take photos of the breakfast bar, it was so lovely and inviting. We were also very moved to see a large group enjoying the buffet that were clearly a global group of people. Other Muslims, men and women, of various colors. Which was ironic because my mother in law and husband happen to be from Africa. they look Mexican, but it made the whole experience feel a bit like home. That someone took the time to explain the menu and make sure we felt welcome, important, and the hotel cared we had the perfect thing to eat… you can’t put a price on that. Bravo to this place, in the middle of Ohio, a place I would have never suspected would be SO good. They care. And are unexpectedly sensitive to global clients needs. I’m so proud to be American. Other things: room was clean, quiet, large, comfortable, area was safe, easy on/ off to highway, easy access to area restaurants and gas stations. For us this was a godsend. Blessings to this place. My mum now recognizes the Hampton logo...
Read moreI stayed at this location for a funeral with my family. I got a 2 queen room for myself so I could redeem points. The morning of my departure (checkout 10/18 room 100) as I was leaving, I picked up my bag off of the bed I did not sleep on and literally found a skid mark on the bed cover. Really! How often do you wash the covers? The thought of what else could on the covers alarms me. The other thing I'd like to bring to your attention is what the owner considers handicap accessible. My sister paid over $200.00 for a handicap room. The inconsideration for handicap individuals this owner has starts with room 226 being the FARTHEST room from the elevator- a very long hall. Its close to the stairs at the end of the haul, that doesn't help one bit considering being handicapped she can't do stairs. The reason she gets handicapped rooms is for the restroom accessibility. The shower requires a handicapped person (who paid extra for the room) to be able to lift their leg up far enough to step in a tub. Then once in the tub they are required to stand the entire time because there is no seat for them to sit on. The owner has no consideration for handicapped people, is ignorant or just doesn't care. As a Diamond Member and the disgust from these 2 incidents, I will need to share to share the experience with as many people as I can and keep them away from this property. I am a Diamond member because overall most locations meet my expectations for work, unfortunately a few do not. I'm hoping Corporate will try to bring this...
Read moreMy fiancé had booked a room online to check-in on 7/22 and to check out 07/24, and paid in cash for 2 two nights. We had received a call after one night of stay with a voicemail that we booked for one night and had been checked out and needed to get our things out of the room. We called back and kept getting told we booked for night and were asked to show proof of invoice. As we left the family function we came in town for, we realized we had been charged again for that one night when we had already been charged for the 2 nights in April. It was the most unbelievable and frustrating experience to be locked out of our room. Have to leave in the middle of a family event. Have to take a stand that we were not leaving as we had paid. Then get double charged and have to show proof of our receipt that should already be available in the system. We were also told to email proof to the Joe the Assistant General manager. Whom we expected a call apologizing for how things were initially handled after been told a couple of times the hotel was full and we had to check out. We were rebooked and the additional fee removed. Which we were glad off... not sure about any future stays at the Hampton. I have a 2 because the staff were nice. This kitchen staff very helpful and our first check in and correct check out day...
