My fiancé and I frequently visit Don Patron for their delicious variety of Mexican cuisine and always enjoy both the incredible service as well as the quality of the food. We have been coming here consistently for almost two years and never have a bad experience. However, the last few times we have visited within recent months, we sometimes have a server whose name is Luis. He is the only reason this review is getting two stars and is quite honestly the only reason the poor review is being written.
We came to the restaurant around 7pm on Tuesday the 14th of January. When we stepped into the restaurant we were "greeted" (wouldn't call it much of a greeting) by Luis with a smug look and he says "Two?" We then replied and said yes, and he motioned us to a booth in his section, without saying a word, and slammed the menus down on the table. It wasn't pleasant, but we continued because we love coming here.
When he returned, it was ten minutes later and his eyes were completely bloodshot and glossed over. It was pretty obvious by both his physical characteristics and outlandish behavior that something seemed to be in his system, but honestly I could care less if he were nice and cared slightly about his job and customers. I asked if they had any drink or margarita specials for the evening, to which he said no, but then moments later told us the margarita special (which was awkward and uncomfortable considering seconds before he had just said no, we have no specials.) He brought my margarita, which was completely not what I ordered, he clearly didn't listen to what I wanted and just brought me a random margarita. I didn't complain or even mention it because I just didn't want to cause a stir because he was clearly already frustrated and not happy to have us there for whatever reason.
About ten minutes following, I placed an order for nachos as an appetizer. He was upset about it immediately, and was also upset we were not ready to place our order for our meals. He stood at our table for NOT EVEN JOKING 5 whole minutes just scribbling on a pad. It was extremely uncomfortable and left us confused, to say the least.
A while later, he brought our nachos out, and threw them on the table so hard that they slid across and hit the salt and pepper shakers and almost the wall. And if you're still reading this, yes, we let all of this slide and didn't make a peep about it the entire time. We just wanted to relax and enjoy our favorite Mexican joint, regardless of Luis' behavior.
He never came back. Ever. One of the other servers noticed (I think his name was Sergio, and he is AMAZING and so unbelievably kind) that we hadn't been helped in quite some time, so he asked if we were ready to order to which we said yes and then proceeded to give him our order. Moments later, Luis finally comes back and asks if we are ready to order. We kindly explained to him that the other server had taken our order and we were all good. He became irate, in front of us, at the table, said "BUT IM YOUR WAITRESS" (which he's not, he's a waiter) slammed his notepad down, and stormed off.
After this incident, he never returned to our table, he never brought us our check, and Sergio continued to take care of us until the very end. He was so so sweet, and so helpful. He mentioned that Luis was upset with him for helping us, even though Sergio was still operating the sale under Luis' name, giving Luis full credit for the table and also making him the recipient of the undeserved tip. I am a server at a restaurant and my fiancé and I tip generously when out and about, however we left Luis a $2 tip for our $40 bill, and he's lucky he got that. His attitude and behavior were irrational and unprofessional and it's pretty clear he doesn't value the customers who ultimately are the reason why he has income.
We still love Don Patron and all of their staff who have been so polite for the past couple of years and will continue to support this business. There was no manager to talk to about how helpful Sergio was and fair warning DONT LET...

On Friday May 27th, I took my girlfriend, daughter, and granddaughter here. The food tastes fine but later we all got symptoms of food poisoning (i am not going into details, look it up). I cannot be certain, but only the 4 of us were systematic, while the other household members that did not go were fine. It made Memorial Day weekend memorable for the wrong reasons to say the least. None of us felt confident enough to try our leftovers. It was a waste of $75.
My girlfriend and I always thought this place was a solid choice but after this weekend, it is now our "runny" choice. It may be quite awhile before we will be brave enough to return. The food was good the first time, but when it comes back up, it isn't pleasant.
In addition to this sickness, all menu item prices went up due to supply costs. While it is not their fault, it does add up to an extra $15 when you each just have a few menu items each.
I feel bad that I have to slightly downgrade my review. Sorry!
‐------------------------ I dont normally care about the decor of a place, but this place looked amazing. Even the bathroom was decorated to the theme of the restaurant. It looked like they put a lot of work into it.
The place was clean, had good food and service. But dont go into the men's room unless you dont mind an audience...

We had a female and another male get us drinks and chips and salsa before our waiter even acknowledged myself and my husband. The waiter then brought our drinks and said “sorry I have been super busy. Can I get you anything else or I’ll be right back.” We looked at him and said we will order. He got the order completely wrong and we had appetizers after the meal and empty drinks for over 5minutes. We watched the waiter talk to his buddies the entire time when another waiter & waitress helped us and then the waiter we had completely ignored us even though he saw us...
