Fitness Connection — Attraction in Sugar Land

I just want to say that this place is like a breath of fresh air, literally and figuratively. After cancelling my 24 Hour Fitness membership this past week, I drove over to this place in Sugar Land to get a feel for their equipment, cleanliness, etc. I was told that they were running a special where I could sign up for 10 dollars down and only pay 10 dollars a month for life no gimmicks what so ever. I was told I only needed to pay the first and last months dues upfront and in 2 months they would charge me for the 46.00 annual dues. This place is very clean, and very cool inside. I love it. I walked in and felt like I could actually breathe in this place it was so nice and cool and it smelled clean. I went ahead and signed up on the spot. This place is huge, and they have a ton of various gym equipment that all looks very new. They even have a private room area for "women only" where women can feel free to work out without worrying about being "oogled" by the men members..(not that I get "oogled" anymore, I am old and fat..LOL), But still its nice to see they are aware some women are self-conscious when working out and have made an area just for them. They have a huge basketball area and a racquetball area. They have an actual theater where you can work out on the treadmills and elliptical machines and watch movies in a theater style setting. The women's locker room is huge, a ton of lockers (you bring your own lock), and a very nice steam/sauna room. I was a member here for 4 months in 2017 because where I worked at the time someone told me about this place. It was cheap, convenient, great place to workout and nice employees. As the months went by, I kept getting money taken out of my account for the annual fee and which I already paid. They continuously kept taking money out and of course I confronted them about it and all they kept saying was that I had to pay the annual fee and that was it, my response was that I already paid it so why are you taking more money out when it’s paid already. No response from them. After constant trips to the bank to complain about my money and constant complaining to the employees. I finally dropped the membership and I felt like I got screwed. I never got my money back after all the money they took out that wasn’t supposed to go. So I got screwed and never got my money back. Also Throughout the months I was a member here, I kept getting sick and I didn’t know where it was coming from. I finally figured it out and it was from here. They didn’t keep anything clean. If you care about your health then stay away from here. I also worked here for 4 months and it was an absolute nightmare because they left me In a room with over 60+ kids by myself without any help. Their communication with the employees was so poor and bad, that it drove me to quit my job with them. Do not work here or become a member with them.

Love the Classes!

I really like coming to the classes here. There is something for everyone, no matter the level. Some of the popular classes have multiple offerings each week so if you can't Zumba today you may be able to another time. I am fortunate enough to have the time to do something every day in the mornings so I really make use of my membership.

The instructors really make the classes special. They know students by name (if they are regular) and make a point to offer tips on form, compliments for good effort and form, and correction if necessary for safety and efficacy of exercise. The provided equipment (such as steps, free weights, bands, bars, plates, etc) is pretty good. Nothing broken or worn down. The equipment is clearly used but not to the point of being dangerous.

For the rest of the facility, the fare is pretty standard gym equipment. Cardio upstairs, some machines sometimes not functional or at least rickety, but usually repaired within a week or so.

The machines downstairs all usually work.

Paper towels and cleaning agent provided near trash cans, but bring your own towel and remember which side to wipe the equipment with vs wiping your face lol
