Bright Star Cinemas — Attraction in Sulphur Springs

Took 3 kids to movies today. Got there well before 12 noon for a 1210 movie. Walked in front door and there were 20+ people on each aisle for concessions … with only one young teen there doing the best he could to take everyone’s order all the while the line is getting longer.. finally all the way to the front door!!! I took 3 kids toward our movie and told them i would get snacks… no one at kiosk to check tickets so I could of had a party of 50 or more and no one there to check admittance! I went back and forth several times to try to get snacks for my kids! It was 1247 before I was at the order counter… spent 35$ on snacks and 25$ on tickets …. Where is management ??? Where is the owner? Some girl arrived at 1250 to help the young man!!! The place was a complete mess … Coke spilled everywhere … popcorn all over the place …. When we walked out after our movie was over, the girl (maybe manager) was sitting on top of the counter (for real) and laughing and having fun with someone …. I almost took her picture!!! I did video the long lines with one worker. I owned my own businesses for years and was ever present…. In and out at all times… I have been to Bright Star several times and experienced messes and free movies if you were that kind of person…I enjoy taking my grandkids to the movies and never mind the expense but today was a total disaster!!! I have never in my life written a negative review for anyone but I felt very compelled to do so today and I commend the young man that was there by himself today…. He was doing the very best job he could…. I don’t know many young people who could have handled that mess. He needs a big raise $$$ if today didn’t cause him to quit then he is...

Went to see a movie with 5 members of my family. We got there early so, we paid for soda, popcorn, ect. The only bench to sit on was occupied by two men, two women and a toddler. They were all dressed in green checked pajamas and eating baked potatoes of of paper plates. Walking back and forth in front of where they were sitting was a man, also dressed in green but, his was an old looking ragged sweater. There was a two step ladder in a corner next to a water fountain so, I sat down on it to wait for the time that we could go in to see the movie. Had literally been sitting there for about 10 minutes when the man with the sweater on walked over to me and proceeded to tell me that I didn't need to be sitting on the (two step) ladder because it is unsafe. I had no idea who he was so I asked, " And who are you?" He said " I'm John and I'm the General Manager" Before I left my grown daughter and 4 grands and got my money back, I found out that it was his family members sitting on the bench so I ( the grandmother) had sat on a very short ladder that was stuck in a corner. John ( in my opinion) is an idiot in some sort of trip because he scored a manager's job. Bringing his family members to sit where paying customers should have the courtesy of sitting, while eating (probably)...

Plenty wrong with this place. Its quality has diminished through the years. In serious need of a remodeling. Old equipment causes the screens to be too dark. One of my gripes when watching, Angel has Fallen (8-30-2019)

Dirty is the only way to describe it. Chairs are broken or stained from past mishaps. The fabric has hardened from years of not being cleaned.

The bathroom(men's room) another thing that needs to be addressed. Their always seems to urine all over the ground. Also the urinals dont have any dividers between them. Which is a problem, whenever you have children in there. Zero privacy, and kids can easily be exposed to unnecessary situations.

Also the staff is not very friendly, mostly high schoolers with a serious lack of work ethic. Will be huddled up talking instead of taking orders at the concession stand. Not managing time appropriately, which like I said before. Such time could be used to clean up around the theater.

UPDATE APRIL 9, 2023: THEATER HAS BEEN UPGRADED. COMFORTABLE RECLINERS IN EVER SCREEN. BATHROOMS ARE A BIT CLEANER.......... BUT SERVICE IS STILL SH!T, ORDER YOUR TICKETS ONLINE AND JUST WAIT TO GO TO A NICE RESTAURANT...
