I had to buy a suit for a wedding. Unfortunately I have never owned a suit, so I didn't know what size I wear. I literally just tried a few blazers on until I found one that was comfortable and bought it. I knew that suits usually have to be fitted, so I took it to get that done. When I put it on for the fitting, the tailor gave me that "oh no" look and explained that the jacket was way too big.
Feeling pretty embarrassed about my ignorance about suits, I brought the jacket back to exchange it for the correct size. The employees were really nice and understanding about it. They measured me and hooked me up with a great fitting suit with no problems. The gentleman who helped me even gave me some fashion advice!
