When writing a review, it's good to come to the table with the appropriate expectations. I wouldn't ding the rental car company for not renting me a Mercedes at Hyundai prices. Likewise, it's unreasonable to expect to get Marriott-level service at $100 a night.

I've stayed at this hotel three times; in each case, the Avatar or Marriott near here were either sold out or had rooms at 3x the cost of the Ramada.

I have a short list of complaints. Here they are: -- No weather stripping on the doors. This allows you to clearly hear everything going on in the parking lot. It also results in condensation inside your room in the morning if you don't run the heater at night. -- The shower head is at about 5 feet. -- The bathroom door on my latest stay actually rubs against the toilet when closing. Needless to say, it's cramped. -- Internet is totally and needlessly bad. Given that they're a stone's throw away from the people that built the gear they're using, it's inexcusable. And should management read this, your Internet has two problems -- AP's are located in rooms, such that anybody can unplug the cable, and anyone else who has the misfortune of associating to that AP can't get connected. Second problem -- you're running 40 MHz bands on your 2.4GHz frequencies, which is triggering a massive noisy neighbor problem. On my most recent stay, I could see 4 AP's, all of which were overlapping on the center channels (5-7), and it was essentially broken the whole time I was there.

Breakfast is 'meh' at best.

There are a few things within walking distance. There's a shopping center on the way to Mission College with quite a few places to eat (SmokeEaters). It's about a 10-minute walk. I didn't feel unsafe walking in this neighborhood.

If you've got a reason to be at the EMC / McAfee / Intel / Mission College site, this is a decent place to stay if the Internet's working, especially if you want to save your company a few bucks.
