XIT Rooms - Escape Game Room & Family Amusement Center — Attraction in Surf City

At our time in topsail we did both rooms, zombies and the hex cabin. There are mild spoilers, tagged as such, and only included to help explain my rating. As for both/the establishment, all employees we met were very kind and helpful. The room tells you how far :

Zombies 4/5 stars Very good, a little challenging without causing any major hiccups. There were some things we needed hints on because we had never seen a puzzle like that (possible spoiler: innocuous item in room was actually part of puzzle, kept overlooking it, especially because they said nothing will be over my head- and I am quite short and took it very literal). The one star off is for the final puzzle that requires math skill. My partner is a math major and started to brute force the puzzle, writing out the equation, but we were at

We showed up late, yet they were still accommodating. They were quite patient with us, having only done one other escape room previously. With ages spanning 44, 19, 18, 13 and 9, we were unsurprisingly clueless. The scanner used at each barcode where we were stuck helped tremendously. The Zombie room was our chosen adventure. They put significant thought and effort into each inch of the rooms. We escaped with 44 seconds to spare, due mostly to the clues provided. They kept the clues worded in ways that still made us think, rather than fully just give it away. Finally we had a funding snafu that the owners handled with patience and grace. We intend to return to the Wrightsville location and then venture downtown. It's a great option during the pandemic, as you are only with your own party. It is always a great idea to support locally owned businesses, now more than ever. This was the most fun we'd all had since before the pandemic. I give it 10 thumbs up 👍 from the whole family...we left the extra thumbs in the specimen...

This was my friend and I's ever time doing an escape room and it was sooo much fun! We did the Hexed room and the puzzles were challenging but not impossible and the aesthetic of room was so cool and immersive! But my favorite part of the whole experience was our game master Bella!! I think we really lucked out getting her because she was so enthusiastic and incredibly kind to the two of us the entire time and made our time there so much fun! She was right there to give us amazing hints and guidance whenever we needed it and like I'm mad she won't be there for every escape room we do in the future but we'll definitely keep her in our hearts but not our souls because sadly we didn't escape in time and they're trapped there forever. But if you go here and you're also not able to escape like us, don't worry because if you're lucky enough to get the amazing Bella's she said she'll keep them company....
