Catamount Cinemas — Attraction in Sylva

Went to an 8 PM showing of SINNERS, which was showing in the smaller theater at the far left. Paid $30 for tickets and popcorn and drinks. The movie started and the screen was very dim with minimal brightness that seemed to be flickering (a tell tale sign of a bad bulb in the projector). I told the guy at the counter about it and he said he would check on it. Later I went to get more popcorn and the other guy working said there was no more popcorn (there was over an hour left in our movie) so basically the free refill offered was a lie at that point. Then the other guy said "it's a bad bulb in the projector, nothing we can do about it sorry".

So yeah sold us a ticket to a terrible viewing experience and couldn't even deliver on the popcorn I paid for as well. Not even an offer of a free pass or something to make it right, something any other theater would have offered everyone after the movie let out for the technical issues. What a joke, such a ripoff. I've gone to this movie theater dozens of times, under both its old name, Quinn, and its current name. And I absolutely love going here. The staff is friendly and works hard to get everybody through in a timely manner so they can enjoy their movie. In recent years, under its new name, with the removal of the box office and the ability to order tickets online, the place has become even better. It's a small-town theater, and you'll get what you expect from that, but you will not be disappointed, not just in how they handle things at the door but even in the theater itself. update: Catamount Cinemas did respond to my message on FB quickly. They checked out and verified my info and addressed it accordingly. This problem is getting fixed asap! I cant wait to hopefully catch evening showings... eat some junk food and watch a good flick! Thank you for your communication. original review: recorded showtimes were completely wrong. even the times on the sign at the box office were wrong. What? The person working there confirmed it was wrong often and not being fixed. oh, and people who work can't make it to 1 or 4 o'clock showings. I guess...Cherokee...
