I have been shopping for my ceramic needs for a few years now at the Art Supply Depo and am always pleased with their glaze selection. Unfortunately, due to quite a few disappointing customer service experiences, I will no longer be shopping there and will have to take the 45 minute drive to Ann Arbor for my ceramic needs. My first poor experience came a couple years ago. I was buying a couple containers of glazes. The labeled price on the shelf did not match the price in their computer. When I brought it to their attention as I was checking out and expected the price that was labeled on the shelf, they gave me a little attitude and just said that they did not get around to changing the labeled shelf prices yet. This was disappointing and they should have honored the price that was marked on the shelf that is visible to the customer. Despite that, I decided to continue shopping there because I like supporting local small businesses and they were the only place in the area that carried the products I needed. Ultimately they corrected their price labels. Other times I shopped there, I did not find the staff to be so friendly and supportive. Today I could not find one of the glazes I wanted. Before checking out, I kindly asked the staff member if she could look on the computer to see if that particular glaze was in stock. I thought maybe I missed it since the store has a large variety. The staff member responded to me in a snarky way by saying, "if you don't see it back there, we don't have it." Even if they really did not have the product, I felt that this was a rude response and very poor customer service, especially for someone who has been a loyal customer and someone they could very easily see that I was planning on spending a lot of money, as I had about six other glazes on the counter ready to buy them. Looking back on it, I should have put all those other glazes back on the shelf and walked out. Luckily for them, I have some pieces that I have to finish this week and do not have the time to go to Ann Arbor or wait for the products to be shipped, so they got my...
Read moreCan’t praise the Art Supply Depo and their incredible owner enough. The Depo is the shining gem of the greater Toledo area arts community. The helpful staff and diverse array of products supported me through my undergraduate degree and beyond. It’s my favorite place to be. Not only does their owner deeply care about art as a craft, but she consistently and effectively uses her business to support the local community through showing emerging Toledo area artists and hosting classes and figure drawing sessions. Every last product is meticulously curated and researched. One can not accurately express in words the importance of a business like the Depo. Every town needs an Art...

The Depo was thoroughly stocked with varying supplies from painting, to sculpy, canvases, spray paints, kids kits, posters, cards, drawing supplies. The staff was friendly and helpful. It sounded like there was an art class going on in the back. My husband found what he was looking for he's the painter. The staff recommended a place for me to check out that would have embroidery supplies since they didn't carry it. Neatest and best stocked/priced art supply...
