I scheduled my service appointment four days in advanced, and arrived 15 min prior to my appointment. It was my first time at this particular dealership service department, and it was quite confusing to say the least, where I was supposed to park my vehicle. After finding a open spot, I go inside and have 0 people greet me or ask if I need help, and found my way to the front desk where a kind receptionist let me know that I need to bring my car back to the front of the garages, leave it there, and someone will come out to me to get me checked in. Let's just jump to the point, no one came. I stood there for 8 min, yes I timed it, went back inside, and was told to go back to my car and wait. Yet again, no one came. At this point, several employees saw me standing there, and I clearly look confused, and did nothing. Claps to you.
So I decide to go into the garage, and found a desk and got checked in. Firstly, my jaw literally hit the floor when I was presented with a 82$ price tag for a tire rotation and oil change. Perhaps I am naive about the service that was going to be preformed, as I have been the owner of a Nissan Rogue for 8 years and have never paid close to 82$ at a dealership for service, for those services. However, I begrudgingly signed my name and agreed to the 82$ price tag. This is also due to the fact that I now drive a hybrid, and wanted to make sure I was getting serviced correctly for my new vehicle, so I chose to go to a dealership.
An hour goes by, my car is finished. I walk up to the desk to check out, what was my total? Was it the 82$ I was told it was supposed to be? No no. It was now 95$. Do not start by telling me its 95$ now and expect me just pay that after I stop you and ask why was I told it was 82$ and I signed for the work to be done, and now its 95$. If it truly is labor cost, then why was the woman in the garage who checked me in, not able to calculate labor cost. Really? That's absolutely ridiculous. Either was, let me say it again, ridiculous. And don't say tax either. The checkin process should tell me the upfront cost. Period. Especially on a standard service.
After inserting my card, I was told it wasn't working and to try again. So I do, and now its declined. So i'm asked to try again. Before attempting a 3rd time, I am glad I checked my bank account to find that it was processing. If I hadn't have done that, I would have been double charged.
All in all, don't recommend. It's also quite humorous that after this lovely experience, I spoke with many toyota owners in my friends and family circle, and they all agreed that this location is absolutely terrible and they never go here. Which I wish they would have told me beforehand, and would have saved me 95$ and wasted time and breathe.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention I did not receive a sticker in my vehicle to let me know when I need a new oil change. Just wanted to add that little...
Read moreTook our 2003 Toyota 4-Runner in last week with a humming noise while driving. I explained to them that it was probably the left wheel bearing since the noise would go away while turning slightly right. (If you google this, all indication is a left wheel bearing). Service representative said that they would take a look for a fee of $190. Came to pick up the car Friday evening. Cost was a bit more than I had expected. Even while driving out of the parking lot I could hear the noise was exactly the same. Drove up South Tacoma Way one block and nothing was fixed. Turned right back into the service station. I spoke to the person at the counter and they looked over the paperwork. First, they completed the right bearing not the left. Second, when she looked over the paperwork, she noticed I was charged an additional $233 that I should not have been charged for. She said the person who was helping me before was new. If they are new, shouldn't you be looking over his work before I'm charged? While they did refund me the $233, this charge would not have been refunded if I had actually just left. So fast forward to Saturday morning, they call me to tell me that they did fix the right wheel bearing but would not admit this was by mistake. They stated that the right was making the most noise. This is not possible because the noise had been the same when I first dropped it off and tried to drive it off the lot on Friday. There is no way they test drove the car after the repair, which it states that they will do in their paperwork. They would have 100% noticed that they did not correct the issue. I could tell the noise was still present before I even got out of their parking lot. They did offer to fix the left side for "free" which is what they should have done the first time. Between repairing the wrong wheel bearing and being overcharged by the "new" guy, I would not trust this...
Read moreI just took two Toyotas in for service, my story is long so hang in there. My first vehicle is a 2012 Tacoma with 61k miles which needed a lot of maintenance, coolant flush, automatic transmission service, power steering flush, a recall, and spark plugs. I called all the dealers in my area for bids and Toyota of Tacoma was by a long shot the best price and they gave me 10% off when I paid the bill. In the back of my mind I was thinking they are cheaper so how is the service?..Hailey was my service lady, she was awesome and took care of everything, Jerry the mechanic did a perfect job, believe me I checked his work, I use to do all this but being 71 I just can’t do it. Jerry went the extra mile checking everything especially topping off my 4x4 service I did myself, he did a lot without charging me. The waiting area is very roomy, thumbs 👍 with the coffee machine lol. They are really the best price in our area. My second car is a 2024 Toyota Venza we just bought somewhere else, so bringing here for maintenance tells you something. The wife and I show up and Shanel welcomed us and was very nice. This car only had a 1000 miles and I wanted the oil changed to get out all those little particles from engine break in. There is a but…I wanted the Toyota oil in the quarts from the parts department instead of taking it back and use that bulk oil which is probably ok but I wanted proof. I brought a container to put the empty jugs in and she arranged everything with no problems, she is great to work with. Toyota of Tacoma is a first rate place for service I am coming back for all my...
