Giant Eagle Supermarket — Attraction in Tallmadge

I love this place. I know they catch slack for being expensive, but you get what you pay for.

The gentlemen at the meat counter (Jim, Mike, Russel) are so kind to me. They cut my chicken any way I ask and package it the same. They are so super sweet and always smiling and they never seem as if my requests are annoying or irritating. I love those men!!

The ladies in the bakery helped me one day with a last minute cake order. I was in a heck of a bind and they not only met my needs, but offered additional ways to make my requests more perfect than I planned. They stopped what they were doing to discuss how to help me get it done. I will never forget them (or those delicious cupcakes).

So yeah, they may cost more than your local discount grocery store, but I am fine with paying a few extra cents to ensure I’ll always get excellent service. It’s not everyday you can walk into a public establishment and have multiple employees say, “Hey! How are you? It’s been a few days.” I feel like I belong there and that they care about my families...

Adding 11/22/2023 7:30 am the day before Thanksgiving 1 cashier who wasn't even at their station. $15.00 for a 10 inch pumpkin pie. This store is so poorly laid out you can never find anything if you aren't a regular shopper and who can afford to be a regular shopper unless its sale items. Im sorry but they seriously need to clean up their crew some of these folks are unkempt and do not act like they are on a job.

Shopping was same as usual but the young cashier I had was very impatient and snippy with some older adults who were in front of me. Maybe she was having a bad day but that kind of behavior should be unacceptable in any workplace. She got a little snippy with me and i was getting ready to shut her down but instead decided to write this review. To the manager: Aisle 7 approximately 1:30 pm ...

Nice store. Great butchers! Good selection. Department specific staff is excellent! Cashiers are woefully lacking. Never more than 2 staffed lanes are open. Plenty of self service, but no express lane and never enough staffed lanes. Most are surely. Today I experienced Jeremy. Never again! I will stand in line for 20 minutes before I ever get in his line again. Communication involved grunting on his part. I had to ask him to please enter my Giant Eagle advantage number. My groceries were stuffed into plastic bags that couldn't hold the weight. Tearing as he put them in the cart. I had to ask to have them repacked. He handed me some bags. A very expensive grocery store. Handing over alot of money and being treated with disdain and ruining the product...
