The Orlo House & Ballroom — Attraction in Tampa

I absolutely loved having my wedding at this venue! This historic home has so much charm from the beautiful staircase, stellar bridal suite to the beautiful ballroom. Shelby was so wonderful to work with and made the planning process so easy we had our wedding planned for 2020 and had it rescheduled to 2021 and they made this process seamless to have the date change! Yay to being a covid bride. Everything about this Venue and the service from Shelby was AMAZING! However the only reason I would only give The Orlo 3 stars and would warn other brides would be the fact that they schedule tours on your wedding day. I understand we have the venue on contract for a specific time frame but it would have be courteous to have known this before hand. I had complete strangers taking photos of everything while setting up and they even brought them into the bridal suite while my mother was getting ready this was absolutely uncomfortable and down right wrong. When my wedding planner brought this to the attention of Jennifer she basically said oh well and that she didn’t expect us to be setting up so early! That comment was quite odd working in the wedding industry and not having an understanding of how wedding timelines work and the amount of time you need to get ready and have the venue set up absolutely had all of us dumbfounded. It also wasn’t just one tour it was several and they were parking in spots that held up our vendors which also put us in another uncomfortable situation with having to interrupt the tour to politely ask them to move their cars.If it wasn’t for this distasteful situation it would have been easily a 5/5 experience. When we first stepped in to the Orlo we knew it was our dream venue! The Orlo is gorgeous, elegant, and classy! The venue also decorates for Christmas in December which was perfect for our wedding theme. It is located right in Hyde Park and walkable to many Tampa favorites, which was perfect for our out of town guests!

We were able to pick all of our vendors and customize the venue to best fit our needs/style which we loved! It’s rare to find a venue that gives you the freedom to pick your vendor team, and we really appreciated this. The ability to add our own touch to the venue allowed us to be creative and make the space our own for the day. The switch from ballroom to house for the wedding events really added to the wow factor as well- it was like stepping in to a whole new venue. We were nervous about the room flip between ceremony to reception, but it was seamless as our guests enjoyed cocktail hour.

Vivian was an absolute pleasure to work with! Her communication was excellent and she was so helpful throughout the wedding planning process! She is flexible, kind, and accomodating. We have nothing but positive things to say about her and the Orlo team!
