Horrible customer service asked for help with getting a food item that was out of stock on the shelf but it was on top of the riser it just needed to be put out so we asked one of the associates there if she can help us get it because it was high up and we didnāt want to be those people that just get things ourselves Iāve worked in customer service so I know thatās frowned upon for many reasons right away she seemed annoyed that we asked for help when I showed her that it was at top she did a quick peek into the box and said it wasnāt the item I was looking for she said the item in the box was an item that was already on the shelf that the item I was looking for was out of stock completely but I was able to see the packaging myself so I knew that it was the right item I told her the packaging was different the one in the box is the right one it was the one I was looking for and she kept insisting it wasnāt so I looked again at the packaging and pointed out to her that it was a different color from the one that was already on the shelf if she could just help us get one so instead of getting it down for us and checking herself she instead got on her scanner to check if they had the item in stock just seemed like she didnāt want to help at all like she didnāt want to deal with the hassle of getting The item down for us insisting she was in the right so we are standing there waiting for her to check her scanner at this point Iām frustrated I drove a long way for that specific item so we told her if she didnāt want to get it down we can simply get it ourselves then she just leaves without saying anything and tells another girl to scan the tag of the item to check if it was in stock which was pointless because the item was literally right there in her face in the box that I told her it was in the box even had the name of the item on it so then she comes back with a latter and finally decides to take it down and stock it she rudely asked how many we wanted and rudely handed it to us she was very rude and unprofessional seemed like she didnāt want to help at all she really tried to lie and say they didnāt have it when they did her tone and everything was just unprofessional and I actually think she was some type of...
Read moreThis reviewer used to shop at Pier 1 Imports in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, back in the late-80s, early-90s, and it was surely a treasure trove of cool eclectic stuff, from furniture, to home décor, to foods and awesome hats.
We're not sure that today's World Market has a connection to that place, but World Market has a storied history of its own, and so it was "high time" on 4/20/25 that this reviewer visited their location nearby, at Tempe Marketplace.
This reviewer first combed through their website from home, because of a single-minded quest for a particular item, imported from England. Sure enough, the website indicated "only 3 left in stock! Hurry quick!"
So today, this reviewer walked into World Market and the friendly workers immediately became attentive! Michelle immediately led this reviewer to the exact aisle and shelf, pulled one of the jars there, and handed it over. PERFECT! We're DONE for the day!
Michelle was totally getting into the Easter Sunday spirit, dressed as a bunny rabbit all in pink. And there was a cool Easter Egg Hunt contest being held there in the store. Several other shoppers, but not a crowd. The parking lot had plenty of space. In fact, other stores were closed! Like, big box anchor stores were CLOSED on Easter Sunday!
So Mary rang up the single item, and this reviewer was gone in a flash. This reviewer also appreciated Angelique's presence, with displays going up and displays being torn down before my eyes. A thriving retail location, World Market in Tempe Marketplace.
Thank you, all at World Market, for saving...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOk, so normally, I have a great experience at world market. I love their products, and buy a lot, especially around the holidays. Their rewards program is great and my husband gets lots of rewards and deals.
Today, however, was notably different. The store was empty, no one said hello except the security guard, who was quite friendly. In fact, in retrospect, I wished I had asked him for help. I stopped by, hoping to find some deals, but also hoping to find a replacement for the tea gift set I had purchased a month ago and opened to find it was missing a couple teas. I couldnāt find the tea, but I found lots of great deals. I even found some furniture that would help me organize.
As I was shopping, I looked around, hoping to find an associate to direct me to the tea. At different times, sales associates walked past me without even establishing eye contact or saying hello. Maybe they were off their shift and in a hurry to get home. This happened a couple more times. At one point, I saw someone hurriedly putting something away. I approached her and she walked away. I even said excuse me, to get her attention, and she continued with her work.
Fine, I guess Iāll check out. But I get to the checkout and no one was there. I saw people assembling things looking at me, but not saying anything. So I left my shopping basket and left. I do feel bad because I did drop a geode and planned to pay for it and fix it up.
I will definitely be back to world market! I love them so much and all their products. But maybe in a few months when they are ready for...
