This location, which moved from the mall to the shopping plaza with the HEB, suffers most of the same problems as Gamestop locations around the country. I likely haven't seen the same person work there twice in monthly visits, and most of the workers are forced to load you down with so much spiel about pre-ordering and shucking items that have no relation to your current purchase, that the personal customer service potential is little to none.
This location specifically rarely if ever has any of the events listed by specific games, which being the only non-used game store within a 50 mile radius, is pretty terrible.
Prices are barely knocked down for used or old games, most every purchase you do make will be from an already opened box in which the Gamestop employee will have to find the box, the inserts, and the game... and you're pretty S.O.L. if one happens to be missing.
Feel pity for the Gamestop employees, but remember there are better options in Temple for used games (near Cici's pizza and in Temple mall) and older releases (Best Buy). If you absolutely have to have something on it's release date, preorder it and show up before they give it to some kid who wandered in off the street.
Alternatively, see if it's on Steam. Gamestop might as well be selling tumbleweeds during the Summer and Winter...
Read moreWent to this location today to sell a couple items. I live in temple but try to avoid this location as much as possible just as they always have rude employees. After I get there I stand in line and watch them help 3 other people before me that walked up after. Finally they acknowledge me and I go up to the counter to sell a system and a couple controllers. He then has to ask a coworker if they take every item that I brought in. Which should be something he should know in my opinion but whatever. Then after I spend 30 minutes waiting for them to test my console they tell me I have to take it home and update it before I sell it. I know have down that and it took 3 minutes. These employees are lazy, uneducated, and seem to be unmotivated to satisfy customers...

She finally opens the store at NOON after about 6 or 7 people walked up thinking they were going to inside and buy something. I walk in with my two NBA 2k games for Xbox one, she quickly told me she wouldn’t take them and that Gamestop doesn’t buy back NBA 2k of ANY year, even if it was 2022. I then asked about a remote control charger for which she also said she didn’t sell any power chords for. She quickly brushed me off and went on to the next customer . I’ll...
