Dillard's — Attraction in Texarkana

Not a whole lot of stores are open and in full swing due to COVID-19. Dillard’s however offering curb side and currently store hours as well are all on heightened awareness of more store closures and lay offs to come. Very hard scary time to the employees that had waited on the return to work just to learn it may only be a few weeks before they are given final notice. It’s a very sad thing. And tho Dillard’s themselves are not the ones setting current trends I have to say I was like a kid in a candy shop to see the displays in fashion departments are sooo me. Took em 45 years but I finally lived to see my style personality on mannequins.....yaassssss!!! Today I only stopped by the fragrance department. I have a favorite fragrance expert and visit him each time he is working. I bring in my empty sampler cylinders for him of what my favorites were. Take care of any purchase needed and there is always some with purchase specials going on as an added surprise. We then move over to the potions (newly released or limited edition fragrances). He also knows when a fragrance is about to be discontinued just in case I need to have one before I no longer can. This is the kind of information I don’t get from anyone just there to smile and nod for a pay check. Which leads me to the stop in beauty products. I explained the discontinued E Arden line of foundation I used. Had found a sufficient replacement product that is also about to discontinue. Knowing this I am looking for a new product. Explained the usual things I look for in the shade and wearability etc for former products and asked if I could get a few samples to try out in my quest of replacement. I would think with the many many lines offered in the store and the numerous displays I seen that featured my shade and the matte variety I look for that I would have maybe 3 or more to try. However the gal that helped me was at the Clinique counter and got one product out and said that this shade would be the closest the could come as the full line of sample shades was not yet in. She did promote the special gift if I purchased in next few days but she offered no more ideas or maybe next try insight. Bummed me out, as not so much ME as My Skin, is pretty high maintenance in selecting this product. It’s worn daily and must wear well, play well with other products (that tend to be a variety of brands and blends). Also tested as to how well it wears in this heat; days of high activity, ability to stay put when I get kisses or change my top....there are literally hundreds of tests I put my foundation to. The beauty consultants of Dillard’s however missed the mark and so I found the service and samples needed at another department store that I will be returning to for my purchase. I’m sure gonna smell amazing tho! And wish those employees out there losing their jobs all best luck and prayers for them and their families. Sure don’t feel like we are all in this together when these devastating losses hit home. I’ve so appreciated the personalization and attention Dillard’s has always provided...

This was our 2nd time at the Dillards at Central Mall. First time was decent but the 2nd time was not very good. We were hounded and even a little insulted by a sales associate named Alyssa Peters. She kept getting excited and kept telling us to buy some of her expensive make up. She had brownish reddish hair with a blonde streak in it. She came off as too excited and a little strange... Her presence might be bad for business.. I hope someone from management reads this, and decides to take action against her. I am sure this isn't the first time she has done this with customers. We did end up leaving after buying something, but we probably won't...

Big Dillard's store had a bunch of cute homecoming dresses.. usually our little store doesn't have much to choose from so when we go out of town we always check out the Dillard's and I have a very picky daughter we have a hard time finding anything she likes. So much so that I dread dress shopping with her but this store had so many to choose from and we found one and it was even on sale for 69.00 regular price was 200.00... and the sales girls were very helpful and so nice.
