Ignores disability… So I came in to eat with my family of 4 at 7:00pm 09/09/2024 it was slow. Explained to the table setter that I need a table in a corner for my family because my nephew will run wild because he’s non verbal autistic. She then pointed at a table where there was nothing but a knee size wall to my nephew of five years old that he could easily jump or fall on in a second. So I explained again and was going to show her what I was looking for so as I was trying to walk with her she suddenly disappeared.. So I sat my family down where I wanted because she was gone for 5 minutes instead of letting me know anything. As my family gets sat down and settled she and her manager walk up to our table and he says that they can’t have us seating ourselves. I understood and then explained to him that she left while I was trying to walk with her and my nephew is autistic and I don’t want him running around everywhere and he behaves best in a space like this. He then continued on ignoring that I had specific needs for my family and so I asked if we could sit one table over cause it was still a corner table and I realize I was one table over from the open area of the restaurant and that was completely my fault that’s just where my family sits every time we come because it’s a familiar place for my nephew and with autism you do best with familiarity. He ignores my request and asks us all to get up and set at the front of the restaurant, as we walk to the table someone else was sat there and it was the same place the setter wanted us that I already explained I didn’t feel good about. The setter then says that she will go ask the waitress that’s working to take our table like it was a request that was impossible. She and the manager had us stand at the front for another five minutes for us to be seated at the table I requested after I realized my mistake… Because it seemed to be some hard task for someone to step five feet more to accommodate to us in the first place. My nephew doesn’t understand moving everywhere but he does understand habits of coming in to eat here because we’ve done it for years for him. 1 place that he’ll actually eat because we’ve went as consistently as possible. We sat down but had to leave after 2 minutes because my nephew started having an autism fit(hitting himself, screaming and crying) caused by the staff neglecting our need along with giving me and my mother an anxiety attack. I left in tears due to the staff and management. I won’t be returning, it’s hard enough building habit with my nephew but we couldn’t even eat after this. Stood in front of everyone like a display of discipline. Disabilities should be understood if told about and not ignored if there is a request to not ignore it. Hopefully this company learns this for future customers cause sometimes it’s just as...
Read moreThe food was good, but the service was horrible. The hostess that took us to our table was nice. After we were seated we waited approximately 20 minutes for our waiter to acknowledge we were there. Once he came we knew what we wanted to order, so we gave our drink order and then food order. About 15 minutes later he brought my son and I our salads. At this point he has not brought any of us (party of 4) drinks or any biscuits. We both finish our salads and wait about another 15 minutes ( during this time we are looking around and see that every other table has drinks and biscuits) our waiter brings our food out. He doesn't wait around to ask if everything looks good our we need anything. My husband and daughter begin eating. At this point we have been here about an hour, we flag down the hostess bringing someone else to their table ( because who knows where our waiter has gone) and ask if we can speak to a manager. The manager comes and ask what he can help us with, we show him that half of our dinner has been ate and we still have no drinks. He apologizes and make sure we get some drinks. So my son and I begin to eat our meals. Our waiter did not come back and fill our drinks until the manager had walked back by and asked if we needed refills. By the end of our meal we still had never recieved any biscuits (those of you who have never at here, biscuits come complimentary with every meal as an appetizer). My husband did ask to speak to someone over the manager we had previously spoke to. Another gentleman came and spoke with my husband. After my husband explained how horrible the service was, this gentleman said he would make adjustments for us and would address the waiter. Now beyond all of the awful service, all 4 of our meals were delicious. We had country fried steak with mashed potatoes, green beans, and side salad; meatloaf with fried okra, mashed potatoes, and green beans; fried shrimp with hushpuppies, mashed potatoes, green beans, and steamed broccoli; and kids grill cheese with side salad. The food has that southern home cooked flavor. You will love the food, just not...
Read moreWe first tried to order online but kept getting error messages. I then tried to call in the order and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes, two different times. I again tried to order online and was finally able to finish and pay for the order. I waited the 25 minutes at home for the order to be ready and upon arrival, there were 6 others waiting or their to go order. I waited another 30 minutes in the store for my order to be ready. I asked the cashier to add extra gravy since it can't be ordered online. She made a big production about having to pay for it, that's fine, I figured that would be the case. It took another 10 minutes to pay for the gravy (she was waiting for them to ring it up in the back). Finally upon receiving the food, guess what?? No extra gravy!! She proceeded to argue with me and I hate to point out that I ordered to country fried steaks which would need 2 cups of gravy plus the extra one. Finally, have the food!! I get home and realize that the loaded hashbrown casserole that was ordered was not there. Yes, you have to pay an upcharge for that. Sooooo, I overpaid for gravy that was the consistency of pudding, I paid for an item that was never received, the okra was overcooked and cold, the mash potatoes were cold and the chicken fry was cold, although tasty once it was warmed up. I have complained several times about the lack of customer service and the horrendous amount of time that it takes to get carry out food and nothing has been done. I DO NOT RECOMMEND VISITING THIS RESTAURANT until there is a complete turnover of management and possibly even staff. It's not good business to have 7 irate customers hanging out around the cashier waiting on food whilst the cashier is doing nothing to help out. There were 3 cashiers and nobody received help from any of them!! Again, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE CRACKER BARRELL IN TEXARKANA, TX!! Save yourself the...
